His eyes snapped open, his vision blurry. His bulky MJOLNIR powered assault armor made it harder for him to move in the small plastasteel tube. In a few seconds, he realized he was in cryo-chamber. The spartan heard the hissing sound as the hatch of the pod opened. He saw 4 technicians and a marine standing outside of the pod, one of the men looking up at him.
The Spartan pulled himself out of the cryo-pod, glancing over at the console next to him. On the screen was his biomonitor, the status of his armor, the date he entered cryosleep, and the date he exited. He figured out he had been in cryosleep for about two months. One of the technicians looked at him, "How are you feeling?". "Fine, what's going on?" The Spartan looked down at the technician. Then, the Spartan noticed the red flashing lights.
He felt sort of stupid for not noticing this earlier. "I see you're still a little unaware from your rest, but we have rebels boarding the ship.". He nodded, first the rebels, then the covenant, then back to the rebels, he wondered if his life could get any worse. "You're the only Spartan onboard the ship, so head to the armory and gear up, we can't afford to wait much longer.". He remembered there were other Spartans onboard before, the technician must've gotten something wrong. "Are you sure? There were at least 3 other Spartans onboard before."
He noticed a grim look on the technician's face, "I'm sorry, sir, but that was before the battle of the Ark.". He was extremely confused, what was the ark? Maybe it was a covenant ship, he wasn't sure. He walked past the technicians, the door in front of him sliding open as he walked. Gunfire rang out inside the ship, and the doors closed behind him.
