Zero. The number that comes before one. The number you use to count when there's nothing there.
I looked in the mirror like computer monitor and frowned at my red haired reflection. I looked at the half of a zero looking at me. At the half of nothing staring back at me through the pane of reflective glass.
I looked behind me at the couch and saw Youji sitting there. He had a smile on his face and he was tormenting Ritsuka.
He sat on top of Ritsuka with the purple eyed sacrifice's jacket on and looking down on him with a fake lusty look on his face.
"Oh Soubi make love to my virgin body. Take my ears tonight. Make my yours. Show me what you can do," Youji said to Ritsuka in a fake sexy voice that was actually pretty damn hot.
"Damn it Youji. Get off me and give me my jacket back," Ritsuka begged.
"I don't think so," Youji said with a smile on his face.
I thought of him and how he was always so teasing and ready to get us in to some kind of mischief that turned out to be fun in the end.
I smiled as I realized that he is my other half and zero may be nothing but even nothing is something. My smile grew even bigger when I realized that I could be the one to stir up some mischief for once.
I walked over to Ritsuka and sat on his stomach across from Youji with a smile on my face. I put my hands on his shoulders and he looked up at me.
"Damn it Natsuo. Get off me. You guys are heavy," Ritsuka said from under us.
"So nice of you to join me," Youji said looking at me with a smile.
I gave him a nod and said "I just wanted to be complete with my other half."
He smiled and said "I know what you mean."
I pulled him in and kissed him softly on the lips. It wasn't open mouthed or anything like that. It was just a simple bit of contact to show him the way I felt for him.
I felt something under me shift and I fell to the ground on my side. I felt Youji fall on top of me and Ritsuka shouted "Next time you guys want to make out don't do it on top of me!"
I laughed and decided that I'm half of something and it's something special. Maybe zero isn't nothing after all.
