Flowers

A blonde boy wearing an orange jumpsuit came running towards a girl with long, beautiful violet hair. She seemed so sad as she looked at their village, Konaha. Her smile gave away her sadness, so the boy decided to do something about it.

"Hinata-chan!" She jumped when hearing her name and she began to blush profusely. She looked at the boy.

"N-Naruto-kun..." Naruto ran up to her and panted. There was something behind his back that he hid.

"Hinata-chan, you seem so down. Why?" Hinata blushed a shade darker.

"Errm..." Naruto usually never gave her a second thought since he was concerned on finding his teammate, Uchiha Sasuke. But now, he cared?

"I-I'm f-fine, Naruto-kun," she answered quietly, saying it more to the ground than to him.

"Really? And here, I got a present for you..." Her head jerked up and her lavender eyes gave him a confused, yet loving stare.

"A p-pr-present? F-for me?" Naruto nodded and gave her a goofy grin, showing off his pearly-white teeth.

Whiiiiiish... Woooosh...

The wind blew about as Naruto presented her with a bouquet of tiger lillies. She gasped softly at the sight of the beautiful flowers.

Swoooosh... Crrnk. Crrnk. Crunch. Chh.

Hinata stepped closer to him, the autumn leaves crunching as she did so. She nervously took the flowers from him. Her hands were quivering.

"Why?" was the only thought going through her head.

"So, do you like 'em?" Naruto asked hopefully. He had pleaded to Yamanaka Ino to give him the flowers for free. After nearly an hour of whining, Ino finally gave in.

"H-hai..." Hinata sniffed them and she smiled slightly. "Arigatou." He grinned like a Cheshire Cat and nodded.

"Naruto!" an annoyed female voice called out. Naruto blinked and gave Hinata an apologetic smile.

"Great, Grandma found me. I have to go," he told the kunoichi. Hinata nodded, still blushing. "Ja ne, Hinata-chan!" Naruto ran away.

Stepstepstepstepstepstep... Crunchcrunch, crrnkle... Riip...

Hinata saw that there was a note on one of the flowers. She had ripped it opened quietly and read it.

Hinata,

Smile. You have a beautiful smile that goes so well with your face. So... smile, for me?

Ja ne...

Naruto

Hinata gasped at the note and she held the flowers close to her heart, feeling her face cool down a bit before immediately heating up again.

"Naruto-kun..." She brought the tiger lillies close to her face.

Sniffff...

"Mmm..." Hinata turned around and looked at the village, Konaha. This time, she was smiling as her violet bangs fell lazily onto her cheeks.

"Arigatou, Naruto-kun..."
