Never again
She was running through the building, already out of breath. She often stumbled in the pitch-black emptiness of the Guild. "Where is he?" Lucy was panicking, her long blond bangs sweeping over her face, sticking to it due to the sweat. "Could he have ran away to find Igneel? Could he have abandoned me?" Her heart was beating like it was the end of the world, and indeed, it was for her.
She slipped on a puddle of spilt beer, falling on the hard wooden floor of the Guild. She lay there in pain in both body and heart, crying her eyes out. She kept remembering all their good times together – the day he rescued her from Bora's slaveship at Hargeon, their first mission together, their first kiss… She had spent the entire winter cuddled up next to him – he was her personal heater. He was always there for her when she was afraid or in pain. So where was he now? She was afraid of being lonely, her heart ached so much. Tears were filling her chocolate brown eyes. "Natsu, where are you?" She shouted, but he didn't come.
Months passed, her heart wasn't near recovery – Mira and Levy would always have to calm her down and stop her tears whenever she saw a fire. The whole guild felt sad about Natsu's departure, but nobody took it as hard as Lucy. Every night she cried herself to sleep, her small house seeming too empty. Nobody barged into her apartment anymore and she despised the quiet – it reminded her that he wasn't there.
One summer evening, she was walking in the park when suddenly a warm hand caught hers. She twisted around to see the same pink-haired dragonslayer idiot she had cried her eyes over for months. Her knees giving in, she collapsed on the ground in tears. He hugged her and picked up the crying girl to take her home. All the way she kept repeating the same words – "Never again…!"
