Jason held her body close, the rain washed his tears away, she was his everything, made him a better person. He quit being Red Hood for her. She wasn't allowed to be dead, not like him, never like him. She was his opposite in every way, well except in temper. He smoothed her honey colored hair away from her face. Pale skin painted pink from washed away blood, her deep brown eyes empty.
"Please, you can't go. Not you, never you."
He recalled the first time he saw her, how he was cruel to her showing no kindness, she tore into him before attacking him with a bottle of vodka. Clawing at him, till he made her pass out. Even then she was a beauty he never thought he would be able to hold close.
He was filthy, totructerd, killed, only to come back from the dead to kill others.
And she had loved him.
"You can't leave yet, we haven't had those babies you wanted. " He kissed her forehead, "You haven't said I do yet."
Jason buried his face in her wet locks, the colder her warm skin had gotten.
He remembered when she asked him out on a date, their first official date. He was dropping her off at the hotel she was staying at in Gotham. Bruises had faded, scabs had healed. They were arguing about how close Roy and her were.
They had become friends while he was sulking in Gotham.
She started laughing at him, " You are adorable! Let's go out Friday! Go-karts sound good to you?"
The blush on his face had intensified as he nodded.
"Jason." Bruce called from behind him in his batman get up. The man just held her closer, trembling.
"She said yes. Finally she said yes."
Two years of dating and three proposals turned down, she walked with him down the street walking away from the opera they had just seen. Laughing, about what seems like nothing now.
Alexis stopped and looked at him.
"What?" he asked scratching his cheek.
She smiled at him, "Yes."
"What?" the confused look on his face must of been funny because she laughed again.
"Let's get married."
Now the ring had no warmth as he glanced down at it. The butterfly were replaced with stones.
"Jason you have to go, she can't stay in the rain." Batman tried to take her from him.
"No!" He screamed as he pulled her close. "No, stop she can't leave me. Not her! She promised me forever and eternity! It's not over yet!"
He was hysterical anyone could see that.
But she promised forever and eternity.
Was forever and eternity really that short?
"I love you, Jason."
*Bang Bang*
"Alexis!"
