Well, at one point in my boring boring job I was listening to David Usher's St. Lawrence River while visions of Utena floated through my head. Currently living in a very very hot climate, it came to mind (again) that it never snowed in Utena. Granted, I have no clue where in Japan Utena would take place, but all the same, there was the stark lack of snow. I scribbled this down on a couple of tiny sheets of paper. So it's not fanfiction, but I figured it was relative as it was heavily inspired by Revolutionary Girl Utena.

It Never Snows
It's scary how it never snows here.
Winter is covered in brown
And there's nothing here to cover that.
Instead the sun beats down
All year, like a spotlight on these moments
I'd rather not have in the open.
Too much happened here,
(Or maybe not enough)
But it never snowed.
Instead the dead petals fell down
As I did when I couldn't remember why I came here.
All year, the roses fell, covering what they could
But they couldn't hide everything,
Like the fact that it never snowed.
Instead the rain passed by.
(Ten minutes.)
It never helps.
Soon the sun chased it away
And all the good it might have done
Disappeared before it came.
Maybe it tried.
(Maybe it never really cared.)
Maybe it should have snowed.
Maybe that white lid for this coffin
Would have worked better than these attempts to keep this alive.
Cover me and leave me here,
Or throw me away so I can leave;
So I can go to a place where it snows.
