The suspense; the absolute terror of my dreams finally coming down and crushing me was almost unbearable. I felt my mouth go dry in anticipation as I waited for the final call from the appointed announcer.
I traced my fingers over my incandescent dragon skin coat, beads of sweat forming across my brow. It felt like I had been waiting for hours, days, months even, but I knew realistically it had only been a few seconds.
The power that could be placed within my hands, the certainty that I could convince all of the importance of pure blood was almost over whelming, and then in that final second he spoke. "…And the new Minister of magic 1990 is…" The announcer let his words hang in the air for a moment before he finally concluded, "Cornelius Fudge!"
Relief, joyfulness, jubilance, and the utter most ecstatic feelings washed through my veins, filling me with pride and glee as I walked up towards the podium to make my speech.
I knew it then, and I know it now, for that Merlin's blessed instant would, and forever will be, the happiest day in my life.
