I guess I'm new to this writing thing. At least in the Elfquest area… Been painting them for a bit, yes. But then, writing's a whole different story…
Anyway… I adore the song 'A Wolfrider's Reflections' and 'Tam's Song'… And I also adore Skywise… I suppose this could be his answer to 'Tams Song'?

Moving on…
WOLVES AMONG STARS.
The stars, they call to me,
singing songs in the night sky.
of what was and is meant to be;
Son of Shale and Eyes-High.
Some listen to the Wolfsong.
the stalwart, grounded cries.
But my heart will forever long.
For the star filled night skies.
For some, the cry of the hunt,
as the holt moves, on the prowl,
fleet-footed, following full brunt,
as to they brethren they howl.
They howl of the hunting,
of the buck that is in their sight,
the pack way of full-cunning.
for the chase in the night.
When at last full-bellied, sated,
as one, their voices ring,
songs of fallen, ill-fated,
of lost sisters and brothers, they sing…
They sing…And so at last, the silence falls,
then to the skies my eyes do turn,
and to the stars my spirit calls,
and for flight my heart does burn.
Boundless skies of timeless night,
guided by stars, never to fall,
leaving the world behind, I'll take to flight,
if only my spirit could answer that call.
To hold to such freedom, to soar,
to have the stars own time,
would be to leave all that I adore,
to seek, the starsong, to find …
To think of time, in terms of the stars,
Endless eternity, never-ending night…
Would memories of kin once loved become scarred?
Or forgotten, those who were once held tight?

And I'm also suddenly aware how long this is… Hmmm… *Sigh* Done at work - while working - writing down as I made it up in my head. Lol! Which is probably the reason for it's longwindedness…
Yes. It sucks.
I think it ends too abruptly… Perhaps another verse…?
