Ianto shivered as Jack's hand lightly caressed the small of his back, how did it get to this? Lying in Jack's bed in the small room of the hub, with Jack curled protectively around him. Ianto's thoughts drifted towards Lisa and the incident at torchwood one – an incident he'd rather forget, then to her dead (part cyber-man part human) body, lying lifelessly on the floor of the vaults as Owen, Gwen, Toshiko and Jack pumped her skull aimlessly with bullets. These thoughts were quickly interrupted –
'Ianto? Are you ok?' Jack asked attentively, his gaze falling over his lover's face, 'What were you thinking about?'
'Lisa' Ianto whispered his voice horse, Jack pulled Ianto closer to him.
'Um, why?' Jack's voice was full of concern and caution, he knew that Ianto didn't like to talk about his past, or Lisa, and he knew he only thought about it when he was sad or worried.
'Jack, I need to know.' Ianto sat bolt upright, Jack rose onto his knees in front of Ianto. 'What am I to you? I need to know because if I'm just a part-time shag I-'
'Whoa, stop right there Ianto! What would make you think that?' So that's Ianto's problem, why didn't he tell me? Jack thought 'Ianto you're everything to me!' he stated, as he cupped the younger man's face with his hands. 'Ianto I don't know what's brought all this on, b-but I love you.'
'What?' Ianto said amused, no one had ever said they loved him, apart from Lisa.
'I love you Ianto Jones, I really do.'
'I-I love you too Jack' and with that Jack pulled Ianto back down onto the bed, Ianto's head resting on Jack's chest. He counted the number of times it rose and fell, lazing there in silence, when he reached a hundred, he made sure Jack was asleep, and he whispered.
'I love you too Jack Harkness, I really do.'
