Unattainable
He'd seen her, from a distance, from afar. It wasn't love, but there had been something stirring in his stomach as he looked. Tom didn't know what, but it was something, and it had captured him, hook, line, and sinker.
Walburga Black was a sight to remember, with her long flowing dark hair, and her ruby red lips. She smiled often, and laughed constantly, her chuckles filling the Common Room with noise as students tried to study. Tom was entranced by her, despite the one-year-age gap they held, despite the fact she was in sixth year and very much so taken. She was beautiful, and haunted his dreams. She was beautiful, and he wanted her to be his so much it hurt.
But she was taken. That broke him into pieces, and he spent many nights crying his heart out over her, so much so that certain boys in his year regarded him as a wimp. He had shown them he wasn't though, when he walked up to grinning Orion Black, who had his arm wrapped around Walburga's slender waist. He had rose to all of his fifth-year glory, and punched the smirking, taunting Orion right in his blood-charming, too-handsome-to-be-real face.
A smile on his face, despite the pain aching in his hand, he walked out of the Great Hall satisfied. Wallburga might never be his, but he had Bella instead.
And she was the spitting image of her aunt; right down to her ruby-red lips. She would serve him to the very end, be his most loyal, his most determined. And where her aunt had failed, she would love him, dedicate her life to him.
But still, the dream of finally having Walburga, smiling, happy and his, would keep him alive.
For the HalfBaked Challenge. Reviews are love! :D
