Title: Feeling Crabby
Summary: Hunter buys Shawn a present.
Notes: Silly, almost fluffy story. No idea where this idea came from whistles innocently

Shawn looked into the small box that Hunter had given him.

"What is it?" He asked confused.

"It's a crab." Hunter replied.

"Just what I always wanted." Shawn said sarcastically.

"That's what I figured." Hunter replied.

Shawn took a deep breath, putting the box down on the table. "Why did you buy me a crab?"

"It's a hermit crab." Hunter said, as if that explained everything.

"And....."

"C'mon, you're slightly hermit like."

Shawn looked horrified at the suggestion. "I'm not hermit like!"

"A tiny bit." Hunter insisted.

"No! Not at all! I'm charming and friendly."

"Okay." Hunter said, mockingly.

"What am I supposed to do with this thing?"

"It's your new pet. You look after it."

"Or, fob it off to the kids as their new pet and make them look after it."

"Hey, I got it for you!" Hunter protested.

"And I don't want it." Shawn said.

"Aw, come on. I even named him."

"It's my pet, you can't name it." Shawn protested.

"Well I did. I called him Herman Shawn Michaels." Hunter grinned widely.

"That's not funny." Shawn said, face straight.

"Oh come on, lighten up. It's the new family pet."

Shawn shook his head and walked off, leaving Herman in the box on the top. Undeterred, Hunter picked the box up off the floor. Shawn apparently hadn't noticed the tank Hunter had ready for his new pet. With Shawn out the way, he started to set it up.
He was sure that Shawn would appreciate his new pet being set up on the family dinner table. It was the new centre-piece.

It was almost 5 minutes before Shawn returned. "Oh what in the world are you doing?" He asked, his daughter following him through.

Hunter looked up, sand spilling from the bag onto the dinner table. "Shawn, don't distract me. I've made a mess now."

"And you'll be clearing it up before you go."

"Come on, I bought you a lovely pet, I'm setting up it's little home so it's no hassle to you and all I get from you is attitude, mister." Hunter said, smiling annoyingly at Shawn.

Shawn was not amused.

"Daddy, what is it?" Cheyenne asked.

"It's a hermit crab."

"Let me show you." Hunter said, pushing past Shawn and picking the little crab up. He held it's shell and slowly the crab emerged from it's shell. "I called him Herman Shawn, after your Daddy."

Cheyenne wrinkled her nose at it.

"Don't you like it, babe?" Shawn asked, hoping Hunter's joke would backfire on him.

"It doesn't look like you. It looks like Uncle Hunter." She said innocently.

"You put her up to that!" Hunter said, smile wiped from his face.

"I'd never do that to my daughter." Shawn said, smiling at Hunter wickedly. "I think she's got a point though. He is kinda ugly."

"Ha! Well here's where I get my revenge because I checked with Rebecca first before I got it and she thought it was cute, therefore I am cute!"

"Dream on, Gonzo." Shawn shot back. He turned his attention back to the crab. "Where are we gonna keep him then, Chey?"

"Can't he stay here?"

"Middle of the dinner table isn't ideal."

"I'll find him somewhere to live." She said, as she raced off to find a place for the new pet.

As Shawn watched her go, he turned to Hunter. "Thanks for the present."

"You're welcome."
