A boy with the dream to find the his mother's killer, becomes inspired by the books of a amazing detective. In results tries to live up to his role model by base himself off of what he's read. Can gather the skills to bring his mom's killer to light, or ultimately fail in the process.

Prologue

John Stevens is a great detective from the 19th century. John's childhood is a very sad one, at the age of 10 he lost his mother. One night as he was walking home with his mother, John's attention was caught by a lone street cat that crossed their path. As he chased after the cat, a shadowy figure came out of the dark and dragged his mother into a dark alley, not knowing what had happened, John heard the screams for his mother as she was getting brutally stabbed. He ran to his mother only to find his poor mother lying face first in a pool of her own blood. John kneed next to his mother body crying, as the shadowy figure slipped away into the darkness. After that day John blamed himself for his mother's murder, he fell into a deep depression, his father not knowing what to do with his poor son turned him to books, to help him escape the world around him. At the age of 13 John came across a book called Sherlock Holmes, amazed by the Sherlock and his amazing skills he decided that he wanted to be just like Sherlock Holmes and bring his mother's killer to justice. Having the book to base his life on he started to study the anything that would help him become the great detective he wanted to become. John also picked up Bartitsu, a eclectic martial art and self-defense method, when he wasn't studying he would fight in the underground of England honing his skills so he could that down anyone that stood in his way. It wasn't till the age of 20 he joined the police force, it was there he learn the name of his mother's killer, it was no other than the notorious killer known as Jack the Ripper. John left after spending a couple years with that force, believing that working for the police wasn't going to help find his mother's killer, he opened up his own detective agency with the soul purpose to help anyone that needed justice to be served. He also takes any case the police force needs help on, because after all he did solve that cases that some people thought were unsolvable, his keen senses and great intellect has make him into the detective he is today.

End notes: This is something I came up with, in result of trying to make a D&D character, don't know if there will be more to come, but if this is something you like I try my best to make a story out of it. Let me know what you think
