I watched as she disappeared forever from my life. She never looked back, just looked ahead. My heart broke into a million pieces. She had told me she loved me and yet she went with him. I understood it but I didn't like it.
When she had gone through the 'missing him' stage, who was there to brighten her days? It wasn't her dad, that was for sure. Her mom couldn't bring her out of her daze.
I was there through it all; I was there when she needed someone to cry on, to just be there to talk to.
How did he come into the equation? How was it that she could breathe properly when he was there but not be totally whole with me?
How could I stand to watch her marry him? How could I stand there and let him kiss her? I don't know; maybe I never stood a chance.
