Yeah, I'm not sure where this came from, but it was kinda fun to write. I've been way too obsessed with The Fast and The Furious lately.

Pairings: Dom/Brian, Mia/?

Silhouettes

The first time Mia saw the spark, she didn't know what to think. Oh, she'd always known what Dom was like, as he'd say, "He was one of those boys who appreciated a fine body regardless of the make," but she definitely didn't expect him to swing that way. And at first, it looked like he didn't. Hell, he'd even flirted with her, taken her out on a date! But all the time, she could see something burning in Dom's gaze as he watched him, and finally, Brian Earl Spilner started looking back.

Mia's heart, which had been holding on to that shred of hope that Dom's gravity had failed just this one time, broke. And the irony of it all was that her and Brian hadn't even been really involved yet.

It was always like this though. Every time Mia found someone she liked that looked good and looked good for her, Dom's innate charm, the charisma and confidence he'd always had pulled them in. Even Vince, for all that he seemed insistent on pursuing Mia had been pulled in, a moon inevitably drawn to the sun. He just pushed the affection he felt towards Dom into a brotherly shape and channeled the desire towards the Torretto that he felt he could be allowed to want.

Mia saw the spark, the burning eyes, but her confirmation doesn't come in the flaring of a spark into flame, but in the shadows cast from it. A golden lamp shone through a window, turning everything into black flickering shapes that danced and melded together until it was impossible to see where one ended and the other began. And then, the two blackest silhouettes of all finally collapsed, inescapably intertwined.

Mia walked away, the fledgling love that could have been dying before it was ever truly born. Dom had pulled another one in yet again, and Mia just wished it hadn't been the one man she feels that she could have truly loved. But that's ok, because in the end, Mia is more like her brother than she'll ever admit.

Her bedroom is cast in shadows as she slowly makes her way down the hallway, not wishing to disturb anyone in the quiet house by turning a light on. So she doesn't notice the slightly darker shadow that leans up against her bedroom door until it's too late. Two small, but work roughened hands sneak out and grip her waist, pulling her towards the figure until Mia is pressed flush against a familiar body.

"Hey, chica," The person's voice is low and sends shivers down the woman's spine, as the possessive hands slip around to hold Mia in a tight embrace.

"Hey, Letty," Mia greets the woman who'd been her on and off lover for such a long time that Mia had finally stopped counting. Stopped waiting for Dom to draw her in like he did everyone else, because Letty didn't want him in bed. Dominic Torretto had pulled her in, but it was Mia who she orbitted.

Yeah, Brian may have been the only man Mia thought she would be able to fall in love with, but Torrettos have never been the kind to limit themselves to just one model.

Dom and Brian won't be the only ones casting silhouettes tonight.
