When Wari's father extended his arms asking for Jim's coat in order to place it on the burning pyre, she had been reluctant to hand over her treasure to the old man. She held it against her chest as if by holding the navy blue uniform as tight as she physically could she would bring him back. After a moment she held it out and admired the gleaming gold colored buttons and the thin gold braid on the cuffs, finally she relinquished it with a smile of contentment; the jacket was not the only thing Jim Burke had left behind.
