Home
Temperance Brennan stared out of the window at the clouds below her, she smiled, She was coming back home. There had been a time when she didn't like admitting that she has ties or any person or any place but now she liked it. She liked that in her minds eye she could sort of see the little golden links joining her to all her favourite places in the world and all the people she loved. Angela, Hodgins, Cam, Russ. Her father, her two step-nieces, Parker, Andy, Zack still and the strongest, thickest one tying her to Booth. She landed in D.C and caught a taxi home. She smiled as she let herself quietly into her apartment. It was very early in the morning. She walking through the familiar room and into her room, she dumped her bag on her bed and emptied her handbag onto her bed. She turned to place her phone on the side table and smiled as she looked at the items she kept there. A framed photo of the group at the Halloween party with her and Booth looking a little more then bit messy, standing next to it was Jasper the pig and his buddy Brainy Smurf and a sketch the Angela had drawn for her birthday it was Booth mid smile, one side of his mouth slightly higher then the other. She had missed him. Bones glanced at the clock, just gone seven, it would take her ten maybe fifteen minutes to get over there. Too early? She considered it for a few seconds and then grabbed her keys.
There was a knock at the door and the aforementioned Agent Booth stumbled from his bedroom to answer it. On the other side of the door Temperance Brennan grinned up at her boyfriend, her eyes raked appreciatively over him as he stood framed in the doorway in jeans and no shirt. "Bones!" he cried his face splitting into her second favourite smile; the little-boy-on-Christmas-morning one. She threw herself at him nearly knocking him over. Their lips crashed together and when they finally parted breathing deeply. Bones smiled up and his lips then formed her absolute favourite smile; his charm smile. He pushed the door shut with his foot and kissed her again lightly this time. "I didn't think you were coming back until tomorrow!"
"I caught an earlier plane." She smiled back sweetly.
"I'm glad…" and he kissed her again. "Are you going in today? To the lab?"
"Nope…" she whispered back between kisses, "I'm all yours."
He raised an eyebrow rakishly. "Really?"
Brennan grinned back. She liked being home.
