" Since when does Tyler like Caitie?" Val asked, more to herself than to Jamie.
" Since when does Caitie like Tyler?" Jamie asked. He and Val were sitting in the commons of the station. Caitie went home, and Tyler had to do inventory.
" When Tyler said he wanted to ask a girl, I didn't think he meant Caitie. I thought he meant me!" Val screamed to Jamie.
" I never thought Caitie would say yes to...Tyler," Jamie.
" Why do they have to go together? Why?" They both yelled.
" Jamie, what are we going to do?" Val asked.

" Yes, Tyler Connell asked me to the dance. Why is that so hard to believe?" Caitie yelled/asked her brother who was asking if Tyler really did ask her.
" Well, no offense, but you are you, and Tyler is one of the most popular guys in school. I mean to think of Caitie Roth and Tyler Connell going to the dance together, is a crazy thought," Brian, her brother, was telling her.
" Thanks, Brian. Thanks, " she said sarcastically.
" Welcome!"
" Caitie, what's this I hear about you going to the dance with the Connell boy?" Caitie's mom asked.
" WHY IS IT SO HARD TO BELIEVE THAT TYLER WOULD ACTULLY ASK ME, CAITIE ROTH, TO THE DANCE!" she yelled as she ran upstairs.

" Tyler, is it true you are going to that dance with Caitie Roth?" William asked.
" Yeah, I asked her. Why?"
" Caitie Roth...Caitie Roth...isn't she Henry and Jane Roth's daughter? The gothic one?" His mother asked.
" Yes."
" Oh." Both parents said together.

**Caitie's House**
" Hey Caitie," Val said to her as Caitie opened the door.
" Hi."
" Um, can we talk?"

" Listen, I'm sorry that Tyler asked me. I have no idea why. It was prally some dare or something," Caitie said really fast to apologize to Val.
" Caitie, listen. I shouldn't have gotten so jealous. It's not your fault that he asked you. I'm sorry I was such a... prick," Val apologized. Then they hugged.
" So, what are you wearing?" Val asked.
" My black pants with my dark red shirt."
" Oh, Caitie. You can't wear that!" Val exclaimed.
" Are you telling me what to do?" Caitie asked more sarcastically.
" Yeah!" Val replied jokingly.
" I'm wearing it."
" Fine, don't take advice from someone with taste," Val said.
" And who would that be?" Caitie jokingly asked.

**Dance Night**
" Caitie honey, why must you wear...that?" Caitie's mom asked.
" Because I want to. Mom, I an a strong believer in not wearing a dress to a regular dance just because everyone else does. Why should I be traditional?" Caitie asked rhetorically.
" Fine, fine."
-Ding Dong-
" Mom, he's here!"
**downstairs**
" You Tyler?" Chris, Caitie's other brother asked,
" Yeah."
" CHRIS, IF YOU ARE RUDE TO HIM I WILL KICK YOU BUTT!!" Caitie yelled from upstairs.
" Come in," Chris said halfheartedly. About 5 minutes later, Caitie Came down.
" Hey Tyler, let's go," Caitie said to him as she ran downstairs.
" Um, ok."
" Did you know that Val and Jamie are going together?" Caitie whispered in Tyler's ear on the way out.
" Heard."
They got into Tyler's car and went to the dance.
