The leaves rumbled around Kagome while she sat in a valley of flowers, nestled deep in the Inuyasha Forest. She contemplated her real home, the one five hundred years in the future as the sunset began to pass, bringing the dark night with its departure. A tear fell from the raven haired girl as she thought of the modern Japan.

Kagome missed her family, but even more so she missed her arrogant, silver haired, golden eyed Hanyou. The one who had been pulled into the modern world, ignorant of the technology and cruelty that resided there, while she was stuck in a time where the everyday luxuries of her time did not exist. This tragedy happened right after the odd pack had defeated the evil Naraku. Obviously a good deed. But as the group would soon learn, no good deed went unpunished.

After the Sacred Jewel was completed the well closed taking the silver haired dog demon with it. Young Kagome had never since been able to find a way to reopen the well to visit her family and her beloved. The one who never even knew she loved him. It has been years since Inuyasha had been stripped from her life, and still Kagome wept.

Hoe could Kagome live without him? When the miko stood from her perch upon the ground her legs gave a groan of complaint. The wind blew gently, tousling her raven locks. Kagome looked to the sky, catching a shooting star passing by. She shot up a quick prayer to any God or angel that would listen.

"Please let me be with him once more."

Her voice cracked in protest. She had not spoken a single word since the day her love was taken from her. Many just believed that she could not remember how to speak, or that it was too painful. But this was untrue, as she found that she could not find the need to speak when it would only be in response to dumb questions. Such as, 'How are you?' or 'I'm sorry, can I help you?'

The only question Kagome wished to know the answer to crossed her mind and was spoken aloud.

"What do I do now?"

This time her voice was a soft whisper that sliced through the air like bells or wind chimes.

Kagome began walking through the woods. Silently letting the tears fall. When she smelled the one scent she would never forget. The musky scent of the woods mixed with something she could never quite describe. The scent of Inuyasha. She ran faster, and more desperately than ever before towards the well before he could disappear again. But when Kagome reached the old well, made of rotting wood and rusted nails, there was no Inuyasha, and no scent. Only the scars that came with the despair of losing Inuyasha once more.

Crazed, Kagome ran in all directions trying to find the musky scent once more. Kagome was sent flying by a protruding tree root. She could feel the hot blood dripping from her hands and knees.

Kagome, wrought with despair, let herself sink fully onto the sodden ground. She grabbed the dagger that had been safely tucked into a sheath made of skins and a leather band wrapped around her upper thigh.

A million thoughts crossed through her mind. Her fear of the depths of Hell in the fore front. God, loving as he is, could never send such a tortured soul away, could he?

With this last thought Kagome brought the dagger to her throat and sliced, letting the pain take her over for the last time. She sighed her last breath feeling the cold crimson blood flow from her neck, and down her chest. Finally the darkness had overcome her sorrow.

Kagome was awakening from her slumber by a bright light shining on her dace. She moaned in despair, believing that she had been found, and rescued. But she soon realized that she had brilliant white wings. She stood, feeling no dizziness or pain, to find that she was standing in front of Heaven's golden gates, which were wide open, with Inuyasha waiting on the other side.
