Inevitable

A serrated knife works the best for this kind of job. The teeth on it were amazingly sharp, just right for what I was about to do. I took a deep breath and forced that knife neatly through the thick skin, ripping it into large fleshy chunks. A scarlet red river flowed from each of the gashes, spilling all over the floor. I groaned, my hands soaking with the vital juice flowing out. But I plunged it further, trying to ignore the effect. I inhaled the stench, having no choice since it filled my nostrils, and I could not suppress the nausea that overwhelmed my mind. I wish I didn't have to do this. My mother had driven me to this. It was all her fault that this was happening. But now it was over. My duty was done. I could finally rest in peace.

"Okay, all finished!" I yelled to my mother. "The tomato's all cut up."

"Thank you, Jamie! I'll finish lunch, dear!"

"Yeah, yeah." I washed my hands under the sink and headed off to nap on the sofa for the remaining minutes. I was just glad it was over.

I heard a version of this story a couple of months ago ^^ I lay absolutely no claim to the idea, but I figured we needed a humor story for the end of the year. Oh, yeah, I'll add it there later, but it might ruin the surprise if I do it now! ^.^ Did it surprise anyone? Don't own, just love! Sayonara! ^.^

P.S. Happy New Year! :D
