Moonlight
Twilight from Alice's POV
High school. Everyday was more monotonous then the next, considering each on of us had already graduated several times. Although we had to drag ourselves day after day through this repetitive process, it was necessary. In order to fit in with the human variety, we must be humans ourselves. In fact, we all sought out to live normal lives. Yeah, normal. Whatever that is.
My husband was… struggling. We all knew that. I wasn't sure why, but Jasper insisted that he shouldn't hunt, even though it's been two weeks. It was quite foolish of him to overestimate his self control in such a way. The responsible thing to do would be to accept his limits, just as Carlisle has taught us. However, I had a feeling he was doing this for someone's approval. Whether it was for the family, or his own, I still wasn't sure.
Our family walked in to the cafeteria now, and Jazz took my hand. I looked up at him cautiously, seeing the pain in his beautiful eyes. He twirled me around once, this gathering stares from everyone, of which were routinely ignored. We then took our seats at the table.
Sitting in silence as Rosalie, Emmett and Edward conversed; I searched the future of my soul mate. Finding nothing harmful, I focused on Edward, who had dropped out of Rosalie and Emmett's conversation.
Edward? I thought. Edward didn't glance over at me. We were good at having these silent chats. We needed to stick together.
How is he?
Edward shrugged indifferently, but in a way that could have been seen as an act of boredom.
Is there anything wrong?
He glanced to the right, and then to the left, and I could tell he was saying no.
Thanks for doing this.
Edward looked away, uninterested.
I knew he thought I was overreacting about Jasper, and maybe I was. I also knew that my husband would be town if he knew I was constantly checking up on him like this. This was why Edward and I had to stick together. Basically, Edward was keeping me sane. Or at least, that's how he described it.
I was about to lean my head on Jasper's shoulder when I heard the whispers.
"That's the new girl…"
"Bella..."
I glanced upward, and then I smelt her. Out of reflex, I grasped Jasper's hand-tightly. He looked into my eyes reassuringly, but there was no doubt he could lost control. He was extremely dangerous right now.
In order to take my mind off the family's growing tension, I looked at the new girl. Bella, I heard her name was. She was pretty, not beautiful, but pretty enough. She blushed as she met Edward's glance, and I giggled. That didn't make my bronze-haired brother happy.
I took another glance towards the future. There was no doubt in my mind that Isabella Swan would be interested in the Cullen Family.
