Colorful hues of green and yellow danced by the window as the train sped down the tracks. The sun shone bright in the sky and the beautiful mountains and lakes stood out on the landscape. Happy chatter filled every compartment, students excited to be going back to Hogwarts. The students were all gathered in compartments, laughing, talking and ordering sweets from the Trolley Witch. Every compartment hosted groups of friends and their luggage, the students happily making conversation.
Except compartment twelve.
In compartment twelve sat a small, lonely boy. He had sandy-gold hair was wearing batty, second-hand clothes. He had a book in hand, Hogwarts, A History, and was reading as the train went on. He looked solemn, as if something was bothering him. He looked lonely. So this is when Sirius decided to step into the compartment and say something completely random.
"Hippogriff!" He shouted, startling the other boy off his seat. Sirius grinned and sat down.
"Name's Sirius, and I am going to sit here." He said, still grinning. The boy looked astonished and wary as he got up from the floor. His sandy locks were ruffled and messy now, and he looked like the homeless people Sirius had seen at the station.
"So! Are you excited for Hogwarts? I am!" Sirius said loudly as the boy sat back down. The boy just picked up his book and scoffed, rolling his eyes.
"Yeah. So excited. Yay." The boy said dryly. Sirius laughed before sticking out his hand.
"I told you my name already. What's yours?" He asked, grinning again. The boy shook his hand and rolled his eyes again.
"Remus." Remus said before resuming to read his book again. Sirius looked thoughtful for a second, before smiling and producing a pile of chocolate from his pockets. He dropped a chocolate frog on Remus' book before opening up one for himself. Remus looked at the frog, confused before smiling.
"Y'know Sirius, I think we'll get along just fine." He said, putting his book down and grinning. Sirius grinned back, happy to have had made a friend, even if it only lasts for a while.
"Yeah. Now let's eat the rest of this chocolate shall we?" He asked, gesturing to the mountain of chocolate beside him.
Remus just grinned widely as a response.
