Finnick laughed and swam next to the boat. "I didn't think you'd actually push me off the boat, Ann!"

Annie laughed, "Well I guess you thought wrong!" Finnick reached out his hand and Annie helped him back into the boat where they sat facing eachother. "Tomorrow's reaping day..." Annie said after a moment of silence.

"Yea, you scared?" Finnick asked in reply.

"Well, yea I mean can you imagine going into the arena? Some of those kids are huge and we're just thirteen and fourteen. That would be terrifying, Finn."

He took a breath and looked out at the horizon, "I see what you mean. I'm kinda worried. I had to take those tessrae last year when my dad didn't catch any fish..."

Annie looked at him, "I'm scared without taking tessrae." She let her voice trail off. She didn't think the other things on her mind were necessary to say. How she knew Finnick must be terrified and how she was terrified for him because she was in love with him. He doesn't need to know that, she thought.
