"What light through yonder window breaks…" a redhead muttered to herself. She was holding a worn out copy of something titled, "Romeo and Juliet." "What kind of Muggle crap is this?" The girl lazily leafed through the book once more before discarding it onto the windowsill.
It was a particularly warm afternoon in late February and Ginny Weasley was hiding out in the Room of Requirement. She had been studying all morning for her O.W.L.'s and was in desperate need of escape. After several failed attempts, Ginny finally managed to sneak out of the common room. She was walking along the seventh floor corridor, steaming about how infuriating Hermione Granger's endless pestering was, when the Room of Requirement presented itself.
A gorgeous mahogany door appeared with the word "agape" carved into the center. Intrigued by the sudden smell of a crackling fire, old books and fresh parchment, Ginny turned the door's golden handle. Light from the hall illuminated the pristine wooden floors, well-worn dark blue armchairs and the large brick fireplace. Underneath the fixture of an ancient goddess, several logs burned brightly in the hearth.
Ginny took a deep breath, allowing the smoke tinged air to fill her lungs, and moved further into the room. It was bigger than she anticipated and, at the very back, a window seat lay nestled between two bookcases. Each was filled to the brim with neatly stacked volumes of books, parchment and quills. Instinctively, Ginny moved toward the edge of the room, grabbed a book and now lay curled, overlooking the Hogwarts grounds.
"Ughhhhhhhh," she exclaimed, rubbing her temples. The stress of studying was weighing heavily on her and Ginny briefly debating abandoning school all together and taking her chances in the Forbidden Forest. "Maybe I could pull a Newt Scamander and document some fantastic beasts," Ginny thought, smiling at the thought of the Howler she'd undoubtedly receive from her mother.
"GINEVRA, GET OUT OF THAT FOREST AND BACK TO SCHOOL AND DON'T PUT ANOTHER TOE OUT OF LINE OR WE'LL BRING YOU STRAIGHT HOME."
Ginny giggled to herself and picked up the abandoned copy of "Romeo and Juliet" from the sill. She removed her wand from the inside pocket of her robes and tapped the cover three times. Slowly, the existing ink began to fade into the parchment and left hundreds of blank pages in its wake.
"Accio," Ginny exclaimed, pointing her wand toward the box of writing supplies on the bookcase. She dipped an old quill into scarlet ink and touched it to the parchment. "What to write?" Ginny mused. Poetry had never been her strong suit but this atmosphere made her feel particularly inspired.
"Snitches are gold,
Quaffles are red,
If I don't stop studying,
I soon will be dead."
"Yup," Ginny said, closing the book and tucking it into the corner of the window. "I do believe that's worthy of the Order of Merlin: First Class." She leaned her head against the clear pane of glass, closed her eyes and sighed deeply. If she didn't get back to the common room soon then Harry would start worrying about her. She smiled at the thought of her boyfriend.
A moment later, Ginny rose from her seat and walked quickly out of the room. Back to reality, back to studying, back to her boyfriend. "Until tomorrow," she promised and closed the door behind her.
A/N: I just felt like writing a cute little light Femslash piece because my dark PLL story is draining me too much!
