This is a set of oneshots that I will add to over time as more of them come to mind. It will be set to complete but it will really never be comeplete.

Family

"What is the reality of family? Is it the shared blood among a group of people? The experiences you go through with someone? The love you and your partner share with each other? Is it the people who stand with you through the worst moments of your life? The ones who know the worst parts of you and still accept you for who you are and not for whom you can be? The people who see the good and the bad and don't leave? Are the chemicals in your brain that your body produces that telling you who your family is? All of those are both right and they are both wrong. It's the combination of all those and many other reasons; family is what you make of all those reasons. "

Leaving his class Daniel Pierce left the building to go to his bench and listen to Mozart's sympathy until Max would bring him his lunch and crossword puzzles. Sitting down on his bench next to an auburn haired woman, he turned and nodded a greeting to.

"Good morning, Doctor Pierce."

"Good morning Miss?"

"It's not important. What is important is what you believe Doctor Pierce?"

"What I believe?"

"Yes, Doctor Pierce. Do you believe you have a family?"

"A family? Why?"

"Doc." Turning his head to face Max who was coming to a stop beside his shoulder, carrying his bag.

"Daniel." Natalie followed a few steps behind.

"Max, Natalie I would like to introduce you to Miss?"

"Doc no one's there."

"Oh."

Looking up into Max's and Natalie's faces after glancing back from the women who was no longer there.

"Daniel I'm taking you and Max out to dinner tonight."

"Natalie that is not necessary."

"I want to, we haven't had time to get together since you helped have been helping Kate out with that case."

Natalie motioned Max to sit down before following suit.

"So where do you want to go Doc?"

"Daniel we should invite Kate and introduce her to Max she hasn't met him yet."

"Doctor Pierce what is a family?"

"In the end family is about choice, on both sides on the relationship."
