Lancelot's Alphabet
A
Arrows – Lancelot had soon learned that even one small arrow could take the strongest warrior down.
B
Brothers – a term that now evoked only a vague memory of unfamiliar faces, his only family his brothers in arms.
C
Commanders – all Romans and all well-hated by him, except the last and greatest one of them.
D
Disrespect – he had often been met with by Romans, only to show them that the bigger Empire not always had the better soldiers.
E
Enemies – some of them mere peasants with weapons, some trained fighters, he had killed them all for a reason not his own.
F
Faith – the only thing Lancelot ever envied Arthur for.
G
Guinevere – the moment he knew Arthur loved her Lancelot knew he would give anything to protect her, even his life.
H
Horses – mere animals to use when they saw fit for the Romans, for him they always were the reincarnations of dead knights.
I
Injuries – Lancelot had survived more deadly ones than he wanted to remember; the last time he just had no fight left within himself.
J
Jokes – his way of coping and his way to tell his comrades that he was alright.

Kai – his friend and his mentor, one of two men that weren't deceived by Lancelot's show of confidence and indifference.

Loyalty – his reason for staying on an Island he hated and once again fighting for a people not his own.

Morals – he had convinced himself that he completely lacked those, only to discover he couldn't turn his back on Arthur.

Nightmares – they had told him that they would get less over the years, only they didn't.

Optimism – something he never felt; Lancelot preferred being prepared for the worst case, a good outcome then just felt a lot better.

Pain – the only thing that told Lancelot after one of the many bloody fights that he wasn't dead yet.

Quarrels – something that occurred regular among the knights, and he himself wasn't always as innocent as he pretended to be.

Religion – he never understood why Arthur preferred talking to his God instead of talking to him, till he realized that sometimes everyone needed someone who didn't talk back.

Samartia – a long forgotten memory, but for him it was and would forever be a symbol for freedom.
T
Temper – his one was easily provoked, but just as quickly pacified again.
U
Unbeatable – this had been his reputation, in the fortress, near the Hadrian Wall even in whole Britain; he had almost believed it himself.
V
Vanora – he never quite got why she stayed with Bors, until his last day; love should be accepted when given so freely.
W
War – his only reason for life, or so he'd been told since the day that he was born; for him it was always a fact that he would also die there.
