He Saved Me

Rogue moved her leg, placing it over her lover's. He slept soundly, his chest rising and falling with deep breaths. She gently entwined her fingers in his hair, watching the morning rays highlight his auburn locks. Being careful not to wake him, Rogue crept out of bed and headed to her… their… dressing table. She switched the radio on, turning the volume to a minimum.

She smiled at the DJs selection. This song seemed to be written for her and Remy. They had been strangers, on a journey. When she joined the Xmen, she had no idea what was going to happen, no idea about her future. But look at her now. She had a home, a family and the most perfect boyfriend any girl could ever dream of. Rogue looked back over at his sleeping form. He was gorgeous; soft brown hair that fell annoyingly into his eyes, washboard abs, a face carved by angels and the most beautiful eyes. He was thoughtful, charming, and flirtatious and he was always prepared to deal with her when she was being difficult.

It's true, she had never dreamed about finding someone like Remy. Sure, he was annoying, arrogant and way too flirty at first but she loved his with all her heart. There were times when she would completely lose hope and break down. There were times when she knew she would never be able to touch anyone ever again. But every single time, Remy was right there, picking her up and driving her on.

Remy stirred in his sleep as the sunlight hit his eyes. She looked over at him and smiled.

Knew there was somebody somewhere

Like me alone in the dark
Now I know my dreams will live on
I've been waiting so long
Nothing is going to tear us apart

Rogue knew that Remy was the one for her and he would never leave her. She had waited so long for someone to touch her, but even longer for someone to touch her soul. She remembered the first time her and Remy made love. He was so gentle, never rushing her but satisfying her all the same. His hands caused static all down her body, surrounding, encasing her, making her feel safe.

She turned off the radio and moved to join him in bed again. She sat on his side, watching his body. The sun rays hit him directly in the eyes now and he squinted, cracking his eyes open. Two burning orbs stared up at her, locking her in a trance.

"Morning Chere," he husked.

She grinned, "Morning Sugah,"

He opened the sheets for her to climb back in and she did so, snuggling up to him. She lay with her eyes closed on his chest, feeling the heat radiating off him. She mover her feet and waited.

He gasped.

"Bloody hell woman! Your feet are freezing!"
