New Beginnings Challenge
The camp was in ruins. Trees lay on the ground snapped into twigs, something that once stood majestic and proud now lay helpless. Nobody knew where Oakstar had gone, perhaps he was destined to continue his life as a rogue. He had destroyed the Clan through his greed, and the cats remaining had been changed out of hate and disrespect. It's StarClan's law to obey your leader, but look where that got them?
Every tom and she-cat from the other Clans had fought against them, desperate to purge the evil from the forest. It hadn't rained for moons. Vital herbs were dried up along with any want to survive. Anyone involved was tainted. Nobody can stand by as innocent cats are slaughtered and remain unchanged. Some believe the should've killed Oakstar, but they were too weak to be hunting him now. It was too late to extract revenge, but everyone knew that Oakstar wouldn't show his face again.
Mousefoot looked at the cats around her; angry and worried. She would be leader now after Oakstar and his followers were gone, but leader over hurt and revenge seeking cats would lead to disaster. These warriors had seen the hate in the world and wouldn't trust the cats of StarClan to lead them. But Mousefoot glanced over at the nursery, the only place in camp that hadn't been trampled. Inside were Crowleap's three kits, less than one moon old. These kits could save them. Mousefoot would choose her most trusted friends to train these cats, and maybe they'd be the start to a new future. A future who trusted StarClan in their lives. If StarClan let them survive this fierce battle, then StarClan would let them live through the upcoming leaf-bare. And as apprentices. And warriors. Now that Oakstar was gone, WindClan wouldn't be hated by the other Clans, and they'd be able to regrow. Thank StarClan.
