A/N: Hello! I've had this around for some time with no intention of posting it. Really, this is just kind of a description practice, if you will so feel free to pay no mind to it. I don't feel like I'm all that great at describing or explaining things so hopefully this improved my descriptive skills a bit? Also, this is kind of a headcannon I have for Armin; he loves watching the sun. And I swear these stories are longer in my head. Okay, enough of my rambling and if you happen to still read this, I hope you enjoy it!
Armin always loved looking up at the sky. He loved seeing the bright, blue sky above him. The early morning sun gave the darkened sky a beautiful hue of several colors, blending with each other effortlessly, giving a breathtaking effect. If the danger or Titans and constant death weren't so closely breathing down his back, he'd love to sit out under the sky on a nice hill and watch the sun crawl its way across the sky, watching the people rise as the sun did, slowly go throughout their day with the sun, and finally retire to bed as the sun did, letting the moon take over.
Even on rainy days he'd just stare up at the sky watching the rain fall as if they were tears from an unearthly being from their sadness. It fascinated him how clouds could be big and puffy, like they were and overly inviting bed and then turn dark and thick. letting rain pelt down. Taptaptap was the sound the rain made on the surfaces it hit. It soothes Armin when it rains, despite the rather uncertainty of a thunderstorm. There was just something about all the rain that made him feel relaxed. The dark, threatening sky wouldn't stay for long and soon the bright blue everyone has come to love would be back again.
His favorite time to look up at the sky is during the sunset. Despite this, the slowly sinking sun made his hopes drain at times. Maybe because it is disappearing from his sight? But he would always leave the spot he watched the sunset from with a smile on his face. Was it the pretty shades of orange that melded together before melting to darkness? Or was it the fact that he always watched it with Mikasa and Eren? They always smiled and give him a pat on his head or shoulders as they turned their backs to the sunset, their hopes and dreams as high as ever. Did their unwavering determination rub off on him?
He never dwelled on the question as he followed his two friends back to their separate barracks.
Then he realized something.
'No,' Armin thinks with a small smile. 'My favorite time to look at the sky is anytime I'm with Eren and Mikasa.'
