"You follow orders well."
Dean kept back a snort, the "duh" that he'd have voiced to Sammy unspoken since it was his father standing in front of him in the dark alley. Too late, a burst of moonlight revealed the silver camera-flare in shapeshifter-dad's eyes. Dean turned to run, but the creature's hand snagged his shoulder, pinning him.
The shifter smiled. "An unfortunate good habit of yours, son."
Dean wriggled a hand free and struck at the shifter's face.
Lightning-fast, it grabbed Dean's wrist.
"Let him go!"
Shifter-dad refused, so Dean's freshly-escaped dad plugged its heart with two silver bullets.
