MARVEL Avengers: CPR
Captain America x Iron Man
Amazing. He is simply amazing. Ignoring his wealth and tower, his personality and suit, he is simply amazing. A nuclear weapon was coming straight for us, and he was the only to go to it. He knows that he might not come out of the portal once he redirects the missile into it. He knows, but he is still doing it.
"Ah, there he goes," his streak of blue light made me think as he flew into the portal, the pearly missile being tightly gripped in his armored hands.
Flying so spiritedly as he was, I could see the fear in the slight shake of his armor. He was afraid of what would happen when he went through the portal. I know I was. What if he did not make it out? What if this ended up being one of those times where there just was not a way out?
He went in. No one moved as we all held our breath waiting for the explosion. The explosion occurred, and it was grand. It consumed the insight into the portal. Nothing could be seen from our side of the portal but the tremendous explosion.
The aliens stopped attacking, they all dropped like flies. Yet, he hadn't returned from the portal. If we waited too much longer, the explosion would arrive on our side of the portal and cause even more damage to Earth than what was already inflicted.
"Close the portal." The cursed words left my lips.
Natasha inserted the key and the portal began to shut rapidly, the hole in the sky dissipating in a blue swirl. As it did, I began to loose hope. He wasn't coming out. He didn't make it.
Next thing we knew, the portal was closed, the world saved, but he was free-falling. He wasn't stopping. He wasn't slowing down. He was just falling.
"He's not slowing down." I warned Thor. Someone had to save him, since I knew I couldn't. I can't fly like they can.
Lucky him, Hulk went and grabbed him before he fell to his utter demise. Laying him down in front of us, I ripped off his mask, letting the metal tink across the smashed pavement.
"He's alive, right? He must be! He can't die! I won't let him!" I screamed inwardly.
He wasn't breathing. The blue circle implant in his chest wasn't shining. He was dead.
"You can't be dead...!" I sobbed inwardly.
Then, the thought of CPR came up.
"I can revive him with that, right?"
Cutting right to the chase, and with great timing, I placed my lips upon his incredibly well-sculpted ones, trying to channel my passion, my life to him. Lucky me, it was right when Hulk and Thor weren't looking.
Sitting back after realizing the kiss didn't work, I felt like he really was dead. He was lifeless, when he was living so hard only minutes ago.
"Aaaaaarh!" Hulk roared, which I am dearly thankful for.
Hulk's roar jolted him awake, the blue revived and beaming in his chest, his breathing back up to snuff, and his personality just as bitter-sweet as before.
"No one kissed me, right?" he asked hurriedly, scared, since CPR with one of us around meant it was a male doing it, most likely.
We all shook our heads no, even though that meant I had to lie. I smiled brightly as he was able to get back up. He had survived. He was back. I thought I had lost him... Ah, but there is always a way out, isn't there, Iron Man- or should I say, Tony Stark?
