It was after school, and Rima and Nagihiko were in the Royal Garden. They had arrived there earlier than the others, and they were starting to get bored, so Nagihiko decided to start up a conversation.

"So, Rima-chan, how did you do on your essay?"

Their essay?: a three page report on a topic that you believe in, with at least five paragraphs worth of why others agree or disagree with you.

Rima clutched her essay to her chest. "I did fine, Nagihiko. What was your topic about?"

"You tell me yours first." the indigo haired lad replied.

"Fine. Of course," Rima declared, "I did my topic on why the 'Bala-Balance' should always be executed properly. Idiots- I mean people these days don't bother on learning the correct posture, expression, etc. They don't even put in the effort to try!"

Nagihiko blinked. "That's very interesting, I guess... Anyways, I did my topic on why the majority of free things are illegal."

"..."

He tilted his head. "Is there something wrong with my topic, Rima-chan?"

"Um, no, but...why would you think the majority of free things would be illegal?" Rima hesitantly replied.

"Well," Nagihiko argued, his voice a bit louder, "aren't most free things illegal?"

Rima thought about this carefully. There were lots of free things in this world, but were most of them actually illegal? She knew there were the usual illegal things, like doing bad stuff like graffiti or hitting a cop, but free things, being illegal?

What sort of free thing? Lots of things are free. Checking out library books, yeah, those were free, but were they illegal?

Well, Rima concluded her thought, maybe he means stealing things. People take them for free, and stealing is illegal. Yeah, that's probably it. But just to make sure...

"Nagihiko," the said boy perked up at the sound of his name, "name three things that are free, and I'm sure they're not illegal."

"Fine Rima-chan," he replied, "three things right? First, the free MP3s that people download, the toy that comes with a Happy Meal-

"That, Nagihiko," Rima interrupted, "is not free. You pay for that with your meal remember? Plus, why in the world would that be illegal?"

Nagihiko ignored her. "And there's also the free samples in those ice cream shops."

Rima slapped her forehead. "NONE OF THOSE ARE ILLEGAL! Except, maybe the MP3 one. I'm not so sure on that one..oh wait! Yeah, those are horrible examples of illegal things."

"Fine, do you want a different example of something illegal?"

"Sure," she replied sarcastically, "why not have another 'free equals illegal' example from you?"

He grinned. "You said it, not me Rima-chan." And he bent down and kissed her cheek.

"Pfft," Rima put her hands on her hips and grinned back, "that's not illegal, Na-gi-hi-ko~ Plus, whoever said that was free?"

"Oh, then what are you implying, Rima-chan?" his voice smoothly asked.

"What I mean is, it's not illegal to do that; but it's not free either." Rima pointed at her lips and continued, "You're going to have to pay up."
