The Scent of Salonpas

Summary:

The twins' thoughts on a common smell in the Kimura household. A drabble.

Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon.

Kouichi found it suffocating. The way it hung in the air. Crushing everything under the weight of responsibility and broken dreams. Drowning him in thoughts of failure and disappointment. Ceaselessly reminding him of what could have been.

Kouji found it comforting. The permanent presence. Hugging the furniture with its warmth. Surrounding him in its faithful embrace. Always there regardless of how many times his father relocated or how many friends left him behind.

The twins felt differently about it. Yet, they both relished what it represented.

Two different attitudes towards

The scent of Salonpas on their mother's back.

The burden of her unending love.
