I'm not really a fan of Nickelback, but I heard this song on a Helen/Will fanvid and so I used some of the lyrics in this little one shot. x
Will stared at Magnus for God knows how long before he spoke again. She knew it would eventually come up, but not now, not when everything was falling apart. She knew she could do it, with the little syringe she had locked up in a box in the bottom of her closet. To be honest she wanted to do it, for reasons she wasn't yet ready to admit.
"Just hear me out!" he stormed into her office behind her. She took the seat behind her desk, he stayed standing, pacing, making her dizzy just watching him.
"then talk, Will. Give me a damn good reason why we should do that...it's the biggest risk you'll ever take." she leaned back in her chair, hands placed tightly in her lap. Still watching him, unblinking, pacing back and forth.
"I love this, everything. What we do is so important to us all, especially to you, especially to me. I finally found a place where I'm not judged on my thoughts, where I can really believe in something, in someone. Where I fit in. I want this forever. I want to do this forever." she swallowed hard, unsure if she should start talking. She waited and he just stared at her.
"do you understand what you're asking me to do?" she asked softly. He nodded. "this could alter everything you are, you'll most likely gain overwhelming gifts that you'll have to learn to deal with, you'll have heightened senses. It'll drive you insane for the first few months, possibly years."
He continued to stare at her, the pacing stopped. "Magnus, I...there's another reason that I need this..." he paused and sat down. A look of confusion washed upon her face. She sat forward and put her arms on the desk. "time is going by so much faster that I've started to regret not spending all of it with you..." she went to speak but he raised his hand. "now I'm wondering why I've kept this bottle inside, so I'm starting to regret not telling all of it to you..."
Her breathing turned rapid, she knew what was coming. She wanted it since the day he saved her life two years ago on that damned submarine. She was ready.
"Will..I..." he stopped her once again.
"Please let me finish...I wanna be there always, I don't want to miss another day with you. I love you, Helen. I don't want you to ever be lonely again. I want to be here for you, always. But, I can't do that, if you don't give me that blood..."
"Let's do it..." she added quickly. "you're the only person who I want with me, to work by me. It works, we work, Will, and to be quite honest with you, and to myself...I love you too." she stood and walked around her desk and grasped his hand, pulling him along all the corridors to her rooms. He sat on the couch be the unlit fire and watched as she opened her closet and opened a secret compartment underneath it, pulling out a long wooden box. She came over and sat next to him. Her heart racing and she could hear his beating just as fast.
"Forever, William."
Pulling out the syringe with the dark red liquid inside. She took his outstretched arm and used an alcohol swab on his skin. She looked at him and he nodded, his Adams apple bobbing with lump he just swallowed. His face contorted in pain as she pushed the needle into his vein. She tossed the syringe back into the box and watched him, holding his hand as he cringed in pain and as his eyes turned black momentarily. He looked back into her eyes and smiled.
"Forever, Helen."
