A Birthday Gift

A\N: This is a b-day gift for my good friend whom I have known since pre-k, TheSecondWeasleyGirl. That was really hard to type….. Anyway I hope she likes this Draco/Hermione for her 13th b-day. It's mostly non-verbal. Happy birthday!!!!

She really didn't expect anything from him. After all, it was only her birthday. Her 17th birthday but still. Hermione couldn't tell why she was slightly upset as she rummaged through her pile a birthday gifts. Perhaps, she had in fact wished he would send her something. It's not that Draco was prone to forgetting things… Normally he spoiled her on holidays. Especially on her birthday and their anniversaries. This year, she had told him not to get her anything. She had said that she never felt right when he got her these extravagant gifts and she could not spend much money because she didn't have much.

Hermione sighed and got up. She had best get to breakfast after all.

Hermione trudged down to the great hall. Harry and Ron greeted her and wished her a wonderful birthday. She just smiled and nodded her head. Hermione quickly glanced across the great hall in search of her lover. Draco was nowhere in sight. Hermione hoped she would see him today outside of class.

Harry, as clever as always, whispered that she shouldn't fret. Draco would find her and wish her the best happy birthday. Ron had not-so-tactfully whispered that his tongue would probably find its way down her throat after. Hermione secretly hoped he would.

Upon finishing breakfast, Hermione went to her first class.

The day passed un-eventfully. Hermione was given congratulations from practically everyone in their year, save the few Slytherins who didn't like Draco. She hadn't seen the Slytherin today either.

After dinner, Harry slipped her that accursed map of his with a note and his invisibility cloak.

The note, as it turned out, was from Draco.

My Dearest Hermione,

You must be wondering why I was avoiding you all day. If I hadn't, I would've spoiled a surprise I had planned… Speaking of which, I would be honored if you would spend the eve of your birthday with me.

Love Forever,

Draco

Hermione grinned and donned the invisibility cloak.

Once reaching the room of requirement, Hermione paced three times and wished for the room her beloved Draco was in. A door appeared. Hermione opened it. Behind the door was a room with romantic lighting and rose petals on the floor. Sitting on a couch was Draco.

Hermione practically ran to him. He leapt up and encircled his arms around her in a tight embrace. He softly kissed her head.

They spent an hour or so in each other's arms kissing and cuddling before Draco excused himself. Hermione vaguely wondered what that something was.

Before she could actually take the time to ponder the matter further, Draco returned with something behind his back.

Hermione stood to ask what it was, but before she could Draco took her hand and got on one knee.

"Hermione, I love you with all my heart. Your birthday is too special to me not to get you something. You already have my heart, but why not make it official? Hermione Jean Granger, will you marry me?" Draco said, hope evident on his handsome features.

"Yes Draco. YES!!" Hermione squealed. Draco got up and wrapped his arms around Hermione's waist. His lips met her and sparks flew. Draco's tounge slipped in her nouth and Hermione was in heaven. Whe they broke apart, Hermione laid her head on Draco's shoulder.

Draco buried his head in her hair and said, "Happy birthday Hermione, love."
