Prologue
It was ten in the morning on a saturday. Barbara had just woken up and was getting herself a bowl a cereal for breakfast when someone knocked on the door.
"Babs!" A familiar voice called. It was Dick, her best friend.
Barbara put down her bowl of cereal and opened the door. "Hey, Dick. Come on in." She greeted him. "What's up?" She asked as Dick came inside.
"Don't tell me you don't remember what day it is." Dick said.
"Uh...Saturday?" Barbara asked.
"You really don't know do you?" He asked.
"No I don't. Care to fill me in?" Barbara asked sitting on the couch.
Dick sat next to her and pulled out something from his pocket.
It was a little white box. He handed it to her.
"What's this?" Barbara asked grabbing the box from Dick.
"Well, you kinda have to open it to find out." He laughed.
Barbara did just that. She opened it slowly and inside was a costumed made diamond necklace shaped as the batman logo.
"Dick!" Barbara exclaimed. "It's beautiful!" She said holding it up. "What - what is this for?" She asked him.
"It's the one year anniversary of when you became batgirl." He said.
"Seriously?" She asked. Who knew it was a holiday now. "And you went out and - Come here!" She said grabbing him. "This is wonderful. Thank you so much!" She said letting him go.
"Hey, it was an asterous day, I thought I'd give you an asterous present." Dick said in response.
Barbara could only laugh. "Well, it definitely is asterous and I'm definitely whemled." She said putting it on.
She giggled. "The inside of that volcano was so cool!" She exclaimed.
"I know!" Dick said back. "And when the bad guys tried to trigger it?"
"I thought we were toast!" Barbara said.
They both continued to remember that day fairly as the day went on.
