Just my way of explaining why deadpool is the same age in both x-men origins wolverine and deadpool despite there being about thirty to forty years between them.
"So, you're a mutant now?" Vanessa asked Wade, the two sitting on a sofa.
"Pretty much, yeah." Wade told her, still feeling anxious without his mask on despite Vanessa having told him that she didn't care about his new look.
"But I thought mutants are born with their powers. And they get them at puberty." she questioned.
"Well, from what I could find out, people who have the ability to become mutants don't always change. Lucky assholes." Wade explained. "But it is possible to activate the gene inside a mutant to make them mutate or whatever."
"Wow." Vanessa said as she curled up next to him. "So maybe someone in your family was a mutant."
"There was." her fiance said after a small bit of hesitation. "My dad."
"Seriously?" she asked in surprise.
"Yeah. At least that's what the fucker told me." Wade said bitterly.
"Emotionally distant?"
"Bastard abandoned me when he believed I wasn't like him." Wade explained. "Anyway, guy did some pretty impossible things. He was a mercenary, and he once hit a bullet out of the air with a sword, just to show off to me."
"Bullshit!" Vanessa yelled with a laugh. "What was his name?"
"Wade Wilson." He told her, smiling a bit as she looked at him in surprise. "Guy was so arrogant he named me after himself."
"But isn't that what you plan to name your own son?" Vanessa asked.
"Yeah, but I have a proper reason for doing that. I'm fucking awesome." Wade told her with a large grin. And as the two laughed, he quickly pushed all thoughts of his father out of his mind.
So basically, by changing history in x-men dofp, the original Wade never got involved with Stryker and as a result had a son sometime after 1973, who became the cooler version of deadpool.
