A/n: Much thanks to Midnight Extravaganza, whose brilliant oneshot Headaches inspired me to write this oneshot, an idea I had been toying with for ages, but could never bring any sort of focus to.
Ayame Was Very Quiet"Tori-san! How are you on this magnificent—"
"I'm trying to sleep." Hatori murmured through a face full of pillow. It was flu season, which meant everyone wanted his attention, and Akito wanted his attention even more than usual.
"But Tori-san, aren't you happy to see me? I don't have the flu." Ayame offered his darling Tori-san, as if he actually expected him to be excited to be woken up for no reason. Hatori stayed very quiet, hoping Ayame would think him asleep and leave him alone—or rather, he was wishing, because 'hoping' implies that he hadn't lost hope. "Tori-san? Did you fall asleep? How rude, and I was going to make you tea. Ah, well, you're tired, aren't you Tori-san? It's rough this time of year, that's why I came to cheer you up… but I guess you need sleep more than you need me…" He tried not to sound disappointed, in case Hatori woke instinctively to cheer him up, but couldn't help it. Hatori sighed quietly into his pillow, feeling a little guilty, but a little more tired, and decided just once to be selfish… Until he felt a warm blanket draped over his body, and gentle hands tucking him in. His childhood friend kissed his ear softly, because his cheek was buried in the pillow, and whispered, "Goodnight, Tori-san."
"Aaya… I need you…"
Ayame smiled, about to bounce into action.
"…to be very quiet…"
"Ok, Tori-san." The smile turned sad, as he walked towards Hatori's bedroom door.
"Aaya." Ayame turned and saw Hatori holding the blanket up, so he could join him. It had been several years since they're last sleep over, and Ayame was so excited, filled to the brim with joy—and he slipped into bed in complete silence.
Ayame was very quiet… for a moment with Tori-san
