Hi everyone! I'm alive and writing again. Now, since my finals, entrance exams and homework aren't bothering me anymore, I can focus on more creative things such as fanfiction!

Here is my first attempt at HopexLight. I've been reading amazing fics about the pair and wanted to try it out.

Feeling alone

Chapter 1.

After Serah moved out to live with Snow, Lightning –even though she wouldn't admit it to anyone- felt completely alone. She could visit her sister and Snow whenever she wanted and was always welcome and was in turn visited by them and her other friends –including Hope. The visits made her forget for a while how lonely she actually felt, but as soon as the others would leave she again realized how alone she really was.

After one get-together at Lighting's apartment Hope stayed late to keep her company. The silver-haired seventeen-year-old knew Lightning so well to know something wasn't right with her. Hearing her sigh almost silently after her sister bid her good night gave him courage to ask the somewhat quick tempered woman about it, readying himself for a quick flee if the situation turned out bad.

"Hey Light?" he started all innocent. The woman answered with a "hm?" while washing dishes. He continued.

"I was wondering… Do you ever feel lonely?" Hope tried to keep the tone of the question as shy and innocent as possible, but the sentence still mildly shocked Lightning. He knew. And she knew that she couldn't lie to him, he'd probably find it out sooner or later. She tried to arrange her words for a moment and answered after a short and uncomfortable silence:

"I guess sometimes" she mumbled. Hope saw that the woman wasn't comfortable talking about the matter, but he kept going anyway.

"Is it because Serah moved out?"

"Yeah… But I know she had to. She really loves the idiot and wants to be with him and marry him. She did ask me to move in with them to that big house of theirs, but-"

"You still can't stand Snow" he finished her sentence and smirked.

"Even though I know he really loves my sister and will give his everything to protect Serah, he still is a big oaf and an idiot" she cursed. The more annoyed she got, the faster her hand cleaned the plates.

Hope continued smirking while watching Lightning get all worked up and got an idea.

"Hey, I've got an idea! Do you have something to do tomorrow?" Lightning thought that even in the age of seventeen, Hope was still a child and smiled to herself.

"Besides work, no. Why?" she answered and dried her hands while letting water flow into the drain and turned to face the boy who sat on a table in the other side of her kitchen.

"Great! Meet me at the Siren Plaza at 5?"

"Sure. What are you planning?" the pinkette nodded.

"Surprise!" to boy exclaimed and made Lightning frown. She guessed she'd have to wait for tomorrow to find out.

There goes the first chapter. I hope you liked it!

I'll try to update as soon as I can (shouldn't take that long since the next chapters are already written. There'll probably be four or five of them)

Until next time,
