So I did this thing on one of my pages, asking for the first word that came to the fan's mind, comment it, and I would have to use it in a head canon. The words: coffee, bang, died, Brussels sprouts, storms, bread, living, diamonds, chicken, tissues, Pikachu, Hermione, cheese, and banana. This is now one of my favorite head canons I've written.
Draco was sitting at the living room table drinking his coffee, listening to his son's 'bang bang' sounds of his pretend gun. Ever since he watched the History Channel special on Cowboys, Scorpius was obsessed with them. He dressed up as a cowboy for Halloween, which he thoroughly enjoyed because of the candy.
Draco sometimes played Cowboys with Scorpius, and always pretended to die since he played the robber and Scorpius was the Sheriff.
"Scorpius! Draco! Dinner's ready!" He heard his wife, Hermione shout. He pressed the pause button on the control and the television screen froze in place. His son pouted, wanting his dad to undo what he did to the television.
"It's time for dinner, bud. Come, let's not keep your mother waiting," Draco spoke softly, picked up Scorpius and walked to the dining room.
"What's for dinner?" The four-year-old asked.
"Brussel sprouts with cheese, grapes, grilled chicken ,and garlic bread," she answered. "If you eat all your vegetables, you may watch your favorite show with Pikachu." Scorpius' eyes lit up like a diamond, and started to eat the green orbs on his plate.
"If the storms don't come by tonight, Scorp, I'll take you out on a short broom ride," Draco added. "You've been really good lately, this is your reward."
"And for desert, a banana split with your favorites," Hermione told him excitedly. Draco noticed the skies were still clear, so he got Scorpius ready for the broom ride. Twenty minutes later, they returned and Scorpius watched the Cowboys show with his stuffed Pikachu while eating his small banana split. He fell asleep during the last few minutes of the show, and Draco took him to bed. He and Hermione were finally able to get some alone time together.
"Let's put in the Titanic. Ginny tells me it's a real tear-jerker, and I'll need many tissues," she explained. Draco smirked.
"I would love to see that happen," he said, and played the movie. And the movie surprised them both, Draco cried with her.
I entered a fan fiction contest on a Harry Potter page, and I got third place! Someone must have written something better to beat this! But then I'm biased xD btw Scorpius is about 3 or 4 years old - the terrible toddler years - one way to teach the child is to reward the good behavior, which he was good for the month this story sets in, and you don't reward bad behavior.
