There were two things everyone noticed about her when she returned to the job. One was that she smiled more… much more than anyone could recall ever having seen her do during the entire time they had worked with her. Even during the "old" days, long before too many deaths and too many betrayals, as well as too much politics, internal and not, had taken their inevitable toll, she hadn't smiled so much or so often.

Nor was it a polite, superficial sort of smile…. It was a lit from within, incandescent smile that warmed everyone lucky enough to see it, to the point where they couldn't help but smile themselves (and that was everyone she worked with, as well as most of the people who crossed her path during the course of a day's work) …. Not just a lifting of the corners of her mouth, but a wide, joyous expression that illuminated her eyes , her whole elfin face, and seemed to put a spring in her step as well…. And they all agreed, that time away from the job had done her a world of good.

The second thing they noticed was the ring she had taken to wearing on the index finger of her left hand. A wide, heavy, 18K gold band, tapering slightly to be thinner in the back, the front was a deeply carved Celtic triquetra symbol with a centered circle.. set with a small but perfect white diamond in the center, as well as smaller but equally perfect diamonds in each of the three corners of the triquetra itself. A miniature work of art, she received many compliments, which made her smile that much more and that much wider while she murmured her thanks. When asked where she had found something so unique, her response was that it had been made for her as a gift by a family member.

Two things went unnoticed (and unknown) by them all .. One, the engraving inside the ring, Sei la mia vita, anima mia - 07-05-2010.

And no one ever noticed her husband…..

A/N - I am a jewelry afficianado and have noticed Eames' ring, but haven't been able to get a really good look at it, so this is my design. And I can actually see them doing this…. I will miss them so much, and I want them to ride off into the sunset together forever. They do not belong to me, but are the stuff of legends. Thank you, Vincent and Kathryn.
