The Past Into The Future
The final hints of sunshine began to fade away as Vivian made her way to an abandoned oak tree and sat at the bottom of the tree's longest roots. She always came to this secluded area when she needed to sort out her thoughts or just be alone. The young shadow girl always preferred to sort out her thoughts at night because she got the most privacy. But living in a town that was always dark, Vivian either had to guess or use her imagination.
After a while of listening to the birds and a few citizens around her, Vivian closed her violet eyes and slowed down her breathing. As if on cue, memories of her past began to flood her mind.
The unfortunate parts of her past were the first ones to arrive, which immediately made her shudder.
In Vivian's opinion, the fact that her oldest sister always made her life miserable would be no understatement. Being blamed and punished for the smallest things, she would try to prove her innocence, but sadly doing so would make things worse and forced herself to face her sister's wrath.
As much as Vivian hated to admit it, despite the constant abuse, she still held loyalty and care for her leader and would become lost without her.
That is until she met Mario.
Tears now started to gather up in the shadow girl's eyes as the pleasant memories made their presence.
She could never forget Mario. Despite being her enemy when he first encountered her and her sisters, he eventually saw that she was different.
He saw that she was pure and never fit to be evil.
Vivian would always remember how he was the only person who ignored it completely and cared enough to help her in her greatest time of need.
Despite having no relation at all, Vivian knew it was then that Mario had surpassed her sister and he needed her more than the latter did.
As they traveled together, Vivian was able to prove herself to be a valuable asset to Mario and his other friends, eventually growing close to all of them.
With Mario teaching the shadow girl how to stand up and respect herself, Vivian finally had the confidence to stand up to her sister and received the revenge she was waiting for.
Now all the tears that had gathered in Vivian's eyes had begun to run down her face.
But soon their adventure had come to an end. As Vivian and the others watched Mario leave with his significant other, she could swear she felt her heart shatter.
What nobody knew was that she had fallen in love with Mario.
The only one who treated her like a friend and not someone who's there to just torture.
Ever since Mario's departure, Vivian felt that her life will only get harder as time passes. Even her victory over her sister or the fact that she changed for the better wasn't enough.
He had taught her so many things:
Confidence
How to respect and defend herself
She is not what her sister said she was
She could make her own choices
Vivian just couldn't let go…
I hope you enjoyed it!
