"I don't think the colours are right, pet" Gwen said, looking over his right shoulder.
"Why not?" he asked sighing.
"Because they are too bright" she added quickly.
"She likes bright colours" he said and went on with his job while he heard Gwen whispering "try again with some soft colours" behind his back.
"I don't think the pattern is right either" Tosh said while she stopped typing on her keyboard.
"Why do you say that?" he asked politely, it was the first time that Tosh did not agree with him at all.
"Because the pattern looks too chaotic to me; it should be more organized, more logical" the mathematician in her mind suggested.
"But she is always so neat, she needs a bit of change, a kind of controlled chaos" he said trying to justify himself while he changed to the next colour. However, he could still clearly hear the petite Japanese woman talking about the need to add some squares and straight lines to the design.
"Do you have anything to add, Owen?" he asked feeling more and more frustrated due to his impossibility to do his job and the suggestions from his team mates.
"Oh no, you won't hear anything from me; I give my chicks chocolate, flowers and a fantastic fu***"
Someone cleared her voice loudly and every one could see the Japanese "dragon" getting angry.
"I used to do that, now I only have eyes for my Tosh" Owen said, sending a flying kiss to his now more calmed wife.
"Okay, so if there's no other comment, I'll try to finish this on time" Ianto said and looked at his work and at the finished design and shook his head hopelessly.
A gentle caress at his nape, just between his shirt collar and his hairline made him look upwards and found a pair of gorgeous blue eyes that looked back at him with love.
"What have you so worried?" Jack asked while perching over his husband's shoulder.
Ianto showed him and sighed deeply, once more.
"Oh! That …. You know you can give her any other thing and she'll be happy" the Captain said trying to cheer him up.
"I know but I wanted to try this for her" Ianto said pouting like a five-year-old boy.
"I know but it is quite untidy and she is truly a perfectionist at this and it doesn't look at all like that" Jack said while pointing at the finished design in the magazine.
"That's it! All of you give me fifty pounds right now" Ianto said and outstretched his hand to collect the money.
No one dared to cross an angry Ianto and even Jack handed a hundred pounds to cover Ianto's part too.
"So teaboy, tell us what you need the money for" Owen dared to ask once he was back to the safety of his autopsy bay.
"I am going to go to that nice shop by the bay and buy her a nice and fluffy big Welsh dragon I saw there and then I will add some really nice crystals of every colour of the rainbow" Ianto answered while putting on his thick overcoat.
"Has any of you anything to add?" the man in the dark suit asked.
A loud and clear chorus of "No" was heard in the bowels of the Hub.
"And, please, while I am out, take care of that" Ianto asked Jack and went out, without looking back at his failed attempt at cross-stitching.
