Waves crashed up on the rock splashing his face temporarily, almost taunting him. He remained in the same position, every day just hoping that someone might come by the small rock.
Today was another day without food, without life. He wondered if the stupid kid was still alive, he hadn't been in touch with him for a long time. He had long since lost track of the days spent there, everything past in a blur as each day seemed like a life time.
It was dark now, the full moon the only light as he stared up into the sky. That's when he heard a soft voice. He wondered for a second if perhaps a ship was nearby. He soon realized that it was actually a song being sung, and the stupid kid was the one singing.
The words were soft and eerie, but he welcomed them as they cut through the silence.
For those that sleep on the seas.
The lullaby is the Sea Moon.
The bedsheets of waves that project the night sky.
Make the stars wave about,
And twinkle more than the sky.
Zeff never knew the kid could sing, but then again he hadn't really known the kid for long. The words seemed so calming, and seemed to lull him into a false sense of security and hope.
For those that sleep on the seas.

The moon bleeds into each one.

And guide them to their smiles.

The song seemed to become more quiet near the end and Zeff wondered if the kid had fallen asleep, the lullaby had made his eye's droop a bit. Zeff sighed and smiled, singing seemed to calm them both down and make them forget of their awful predicament.
The next night, Zeff heard the kid sing again, but this time he just closed his eyes and let the song take him for the moment, into better times and better days.
Okay so this is my first stab at a serious fic, so please don't mind if it wasn't that great. It's not my best work . at least I'm not that proud of it. I might try to change it a bit later. Also if i made any spelling mistakes or grammar mistakes feel free to point them out and i will fix them up as soon as i can.
This fic was inspired by the song 'Sea Moon See You' which is actually sung by Sanji's kid voice actress (aka Chopper's voice) and i thought it was beautiful. If you have not heard it, search it on youtube. It's in Japanese but MGSSubsistance translated it in their video. You should also check out some of the other one piece songs, Luffy's, Usopp's and Chopper's are the best. Sanji's not bad at singing but his are all just about romance -roles eyes-.
