Chapter 1
The Assignment
"Sasuke!" Sakura yelled, "Wait for me!"
"I don't know why you try," Sasuke insisted.
"What do you mean?"
"You know exactly what I mean."
"No I don't, I have no idea what you are talking about."
"Sakura," Sasuke sighed. "You always try to get me to talk to you even though you have not yet fully grasped that I don't like you." Sakura and Sasuke walked down a long path passing many trees in Konoha Village. "Well I'm sorry Sasuke you feel that way." There was a short pause in Sakura's voice. "All I wanted to do is talk to you while we walk to get our new assignment for the next few weeks."
"Yeah about that, I don't have a great feeling about it." Shortly the trees came to an end and the only thing in their path was a white building. The building's windows had tattered curtains and the door was painted red. "Why do you say that?"
"I don't know I just don't have a great feeling about the assignment."
"Well, I don't think Kakashi is going to give us something too over the top."
"I wouldn't be so sure." Sakura and Sasuke entered the red door with the tattered curtains to find Kakashi was standing over by a small desk. "Hey Sakura, Sasuke! I see Naruto's not with you," Kakashi muttered.
"We didn't see him on our way here," Sakura noted.
"Ok well we are going to have to wait for him to get here before I reveal your next training assignment," Kakashi sighed. Kakashi quietly walked to the desk to sit down on a squeaky wheeled chair. He seemed to be in a good mood today. Hopefully Naruto doesn't get on his nerves.
"Great that bone-head is going to take a while!" Sasuke blurted. Sakura went to a chair in a far corner from the desk, and Sasuke went to go sit on the other side of the room. Sakura sighed because of Sasuke's decision to go sit on another side of the room from her. Kakashi took out a book which the title read "Make-out Paradise". Suddenly Naruto burst threw the door and exclaimed, "Hi everyone, the Hero is here!" Sasuke scoffed with disagreement and sat up. "Hi Kakashi. Hi Sasuke." Naruto shuddered when he said Sasuke's name. "Hello Sakura." Naruto emphasized Sakura's name loving every syllable. "Well Naruto you're twenty minutes late." Kakashi howled.
"As if you haven't seen this before." Sasuke muttered under his breath.
"Well your new assignment is..." Kakashi didn't finish his sentence because a person from the back room approached Kakashi. The man had long scraggly hair, and his clothes were ripped and dirty. The man whispered in Kakashi's ear. Occasionally Kakashi would reply with a "mmhm" or a "yes I see". When the man was done whispering secretly to Kakashi he went back to the room of which he came. "Well, we can't do the assignment I was going to give you so I am going to give you another one." Naruto dropped his jaw in disbelief. He got up and pointed his finger at Kakashi a yelled, "I demand you to give us the assignment that you were originally going to give us!"
"Naruto, you fool sit down you don't even know what that assignment was!" Kakashi bellowed. Naruto quietly went back to his seat next to Sakura. "Now your new assignment is that you three are going to another village in someplace that I don't remember the name now. From there you will have and elite ninja teach you some basics and when you return you will get a new assignment." There was a pause. "Providing that you live," Kakashi whispered silently.
"What was that Kakashi?" Sakura inquired.
"Oh nothing, you three better get going."
♪"The Hero and the other two are off on a mission!"♪ Naruto sang.
"Whatever," Sasuke griped.
