Woman-Child

Disclaimer: I don't own star wars. This is a poem based on a character *I* created for my story "Dark Secrets" named Tiara Starfire. She is Qui-Gon's long lost daughter. ALL COMPLAINERS SHALL BE SENT TO THE SPICE MINES ON KESSEL!!!! MWA HA HA!! Ok, I'll shut up now. And now the moment you've all been waiting for...LOL!!!
She is innocent
She has done nothing to harm anyone
Some say she's naive
But she is not
She has seen far too many
Unspeakable horrors in her life
She appears so young
And yet her haunted eyes
Speak of something which is far
Beyond her mere 14 years of life
Abandoned unwillingly as a child
She wanders in a world of
Darkness and shadows
Lost and alone
The woman-child
With a heart of stone
The thought crosses her mind
That she needs no one else
That she can make it alone
But then he entered her life
Shining his light
Where once only a world of
Darkness and cold shadows
Were capable of existing
At first she attempts
To push him away
Unwilling to trust
Frightened of being hurt
But there is something there
Something about him that
Begins to ease her fears
He offers her shelter
Which she warily accepts
Amazed at his kindness
From there her destiny
Seems to slowly unravel itself
Before her very eyes
Frightening and exhilarating
At the same time
It takes a while
But the two companions eventually
Form a fledgling bond
Realizing things are as they were
Meant to be all along
She has a startling revelation
As her heart of stone
Slowly begins to melt in the
Comfort and love that she sees
Reflected in his blue/green eyes
As he holds her close to him
Almost protectively it seems,
Wiping away her silent tears
She is no longer
The girl she once was
No, not anymore
Never again
Something inside her has changed
She is no longer the same empty
Woman-Child
That she used to be.
