Matt and Erika are vacationing and listening to the radio. A boy named Rico, about Matt's age comes. The radio says the military and Sonic are leaving.
Matt: Sonic? I gotta go!
The 3 arrive at the airport. They are in the flight to Orlando, Florida. Where the troops leave.
Orlando, Florida
Matt gets to get on the aircraft carrier and sees familiar faces like General Adams from the alien attack on Angel Island, and The President of the United States.
Sonic: MATT!
Matt: Hey Sonic. I am coming with you.
The aircraft carrier leaves. They make it to the Challenger Deep, the deepest ocean where Metal Sonic's body rests. Eggman robots jump in the water.
Robot 1: Metal Sonic! What are we going to do?
Doctor Robot: I know. The Rainbow Shard, combination of the 7 chaos emeralds will heal him.
Doctor Robot puts the shard to his chest and he wakes up.
Doctor Robot: MORE PARTS!
2 Robots get the parts of Zonic, Tails Doll, Metal Knuckles, and a Shadow Android. They build Metal Overload. Metal Overlord goes to outer space in Mobius.
Planet Mobius
Metal Overlord: I am home Iron Queen.
Iron Queen: Good.
A man wearing a mask from severe burns and a green suit like Eggman comes.
Snivley: Is that you Metal Sonic?
Metal Overlord throws Snivley to wall.
Metal: Overlord. Not Sonic. I will get my revenge on Earth. I will send robots down.
Meteors crash in Shanghai, London, New York, Paris, and Egypt.
Burbank, California
Matt: Where do we go?
Rico: I think I know where.
The 3 drive to Washington, D.C.
Washington DC
Matt, Erika, and Rico meet up with the President in the Smithsonian art section.
President: Okay, who do you know that can help us?
Matt touches the fossil and Chaos comes out of it.
Chaos: What do you want now?
Matt: I need you to teleport me somewhere?
Chaos: Where?
Matt: Where those meteors came from.
Chaos: Okay!
Chaos teleports them to Mobius, Sonic's home planet.
Mobius
Matt: They came from here?
Sonic: I guess so.
Rotor, Antonie, and Princess Sally come out of their tree base.
Rotor: Hey I think that's the President of the United States!
Sonic: He is. Now we must do the mission. Steal the rainbow shard.
Tails: I know what to use.
Tails brings a bag of marbles to Eggman's mobian base. He pours the marbles in the pipe. The marbles turn into little bugs and they start forming a robot about 2 feet tall. He takes the rainbow shard. The next day, Metal Overlord attacks the mobians and Sonic.
Sonic: Take it easy!
Chaos tries to attack but gets stunned.
Chaos: Leave without me.
Sonic: NO!
Sonic uses the rainbow shard to fuse him with Chaos to make liquid Sonic.
Liquid Sonic: Let's roll.
He defeats Metal Overload by controlling him and taking his arms and legs off. He flies to Eggman's base.
Eggman: It's Sonic!
Snivley, Eggman, and The Iron Queen attack him. Liquid Sonic kicks Eggman to a tree.
Eggman: Snivley!
Liquid Sonic grabs The Iron Queen's staff and uses it to strike lightning on her. Eggman sees the event.
Eggman: I won't forget this.
Snivley: The cowards do survive.
The gang go to earth. All the evil is done. And Sonic is still on the case. He is seen running with Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Amy, Cream, Big, E-102 Gamma, Rouge, Vector, Charmy, and Espio.
