Snowflakes
Dainty, delicate snowflakes fell gracefully from the darkened sky and onto my outstretched tongue, twirling in graceful little dances as they descended before melting on my skin and tongue. I smiled, twirling around and trying to catch as many snowflakes as I could, occasionally preserving one or two and twisting them together to make a crown.
I remember when I used to do this when I was little, when I would freeze them and present them to Zabuza-sama and he would grudgingly wear them for a short while just to make me smile. But now that I was older, I didn't think he would appreciate it too much, so I simply allowed it to melt in my hand when I had finished.
Snow.
Snowflakes.
I loved it when it snowed. It had snowed the day I meet Zabuza-sama. It had snowed the first time we kissed and then the first time we made love and then the first time he told me I love you back.
All my happiest memories where days it snowed. Zabuza always calls me soft for it, but I can't help but love it. It's as if my mother was watching me from heaven, carefully selecting the days she knew I would be happy to gently rain snowflakes on earth and on me.
She had always told me the snow loved me. I had been born on a snowy day in winter. Mother had said it was because I was such a snowflake—delicate, fragile and gorgeous--I couldn't have been born in any other season otherwise I would have melted.
I never told Zabuza this, but I think she's right. It could only be the reason the skies seem to dance with me whenever I'm happy.
Giggling, I looked down at my second snowflake crown.
Maybe Zabuza would wear it if I asked?"
