Sirius and Regalus Black, the two "weirdest kids on the block," were playing in the front yard of 12 Grimmauld Place. They looked to be about twelve and nine years old, respectively. Regalus was playing some sort of game involving rocks and a lot of running, and Sirius was reading a Muggle comic book. Superman it looked like. Some Muggle boys appeared at the far end of the street, riding towards the two with their bikes. Regalus stopped suddenly. He spat on the ground, on his face was an expression of dislike too severe to come naturally to one so young.
"Muggles," he said, parroting his parents. "Ugh. Why do we have to live in this stinking neighborhood with them crawling all over everywhere."
"Shut up, Reg," Sirius suggested. The younger boy peered at his brother, noticing the wand that Sirius had always kept by him since he had received it at Ollivander's the previous summer.
"Sirius…let me have a go with your wand." Sirius looked up, saw the Muggles who were approaching and quickly understood the situation.
"Not a chance, Reg."
"Come on, it'll only take a second. I won't do anything to bad. Nothing their Muggle doctors can't fix."
Sirius looked at his little brother with utter dislike.
"You're a real little prat, you know that?"
Regalus's face turned pink at the cheekbones.
"Mum told you not to call me that!" he shouted.
"Well, dear mummy's not here now is she? She can't save her dear ickle baby Reggiekins from the big bad Sirius wolf." Regalus balled his fists.
"I'm warning you Sirius…" The pink was now spreading to the rest of his face.
"What?" Sirius had set down his comic book. "What will you do Reggiekins?" With a yell Regalus flew at Sirius and the two boys fell, tussling, to the ground. Neither was able to get in a good shot due to their close proximity.
The two boys on bikes rode pass their two fighting neighbors.
"Weirdos," One said.
"Yeah, their whole family's mad. Strange lights and stuff always flashing in the windows…" replied the other.
Finally, Regalus was able to sock Sirius in the stomach, which winded him so much he stopped fighting. The two each looked terrible—leaves in their hair, various rips and tears in their clothes, grass stains—but neither had received any real injuries. Regulus stood up with a triumphant gleam in his eye.
"Muuuuuuuum!" he shouted. "Mum, look what Sirius did to meeeee!." Sirius continued to lie on the ground, listening for the screech he knew would follow soon after.
"Sirius Orion Black!"
"A real little prat…"
Just a little idea that's been floating around the house...my interpretation of the Sirius/Regulus relationship. Maybe they could have been friends if his parents hadn't influenced Regalus so much…oh well.
As always, thank you for reading! Don't forget reviews are like author-candy and candy makes me happy and being happy makes me write better!
