You control the water,
Not the other way around,
Well apparently no one told the water because it didn't listen
Pulled you under its spell
Tugged you away
All the way to exilium
He tried to pull you back
But the water just dragged him with you
Didn't realize he was a child if shadows,
Not rain,
But waves are stronger than darkness
So much stronger,
So much harder than control,
You try to hold it back,
But even with a million people holding on to you
The water always wins
There's so much water on the earth,
And so few can control it
There isn't enough of you
So the water always wins
Wins and then picks on someone,
This time it chooses you,
Chooses you to taunt
To haunt
To chase in circles until you fall down
Just so it can whisper in your ear
"You'll always be mine"
Chooses you to remind that your nothing
That it is everything
And you are nothing
That you need it
But it doesn't need you
You're just a puppet
A form of amusement
To the water you're a toy,
And not a fragile one,
The kind it can slam against the wall
Over
And over
And over
And over
Again
Again
Again
And it will never break,
A rag doll,
Or a stuffed animal
Or a rubber ball
Yes a rubber ball
Because no matter how many times it throws you you bounce right back,
You don't have a choice
Instinct
More than instinct
An automatic part if you that can't be turned off.
You wonder what the prairie would be like for you,
Landlocked space
Rare rain
Not enough for you to lose control
It would be nice
To lay in a field
And then the soft rain fall on your face
Taunting the water with your presence
Finally You would taunt it
Almost free
Close to free
Compromise
That would be okay
Compromise would be fine
Anything would be better than drowning.
