"Ugh," the young boy groaned as he silenced his alarm clock.

He got up from his bed; he was a young kid with a chipped tooth, freckles, emerald green eyes and dyed black hair. He was currently wearing nothing but his underwear, but he immediately went to get dressed. He donned a long sleeved white shirt with black stripes and a black t-shirt on top of it, some grey pants and black combat boots. Afterwards, he went to put some black eyeliner. He then turned to the readers.

"Hi," he spoke, fairly monotone. "I'm guessing you guys know me by now, but for those who don't, my name is Lincoln, Lincoln Loud." He introduced himself with, again, no emotion. Distant, loud (heh) noises rang out, from crashes to yelling, and Lincoln simply let out a sigh.

"...If you're wondering what's happening outside, it's just my family. They're always like this," he complained.

He proceeded to leave his room, revealing the utter chaos that was his siblings. There was yelling, fighting, music, and so on. It was the kind of stuff that showed how the Loud family earned their name. Lincoln simply groaned and went to the bathroom, though he knew how long the line at the door was bound to be.

He passed the twins, Lola and Lana, who were fighting over something as usual. Since he wasn't in the mood to break them up, he opted to ignore them. He then heard an explosion from the room on his left: probably one of the experiments of his brainy sister Lisa that went wrong…

Again, he was not in the mood to help her. He'd probably worry about his baby sister Lily, until he remembered that Lisa always made precautions for her roomate. So he ignored her as well.

As he reached the bathroom, he saw the huge line comprising of his older sisters, minus Lori, who was probably inside. He sighed to himself upon realizing that he'd have to wait a while - the sole Loud brother simply stared emotionlessly into the ceiling. That was, until he was interrupted by his sporty sister Lynn.

"Hey, Lincoln?" asked Lynn, a grin curling over her face. Lincoln simply stared at her, maintaining the same face of indifference he woke up with. "What? Do you want me to practice with you?" he asked, assuming what she might want.

"Can't a sister just talk to her brother?" Lynn asked, feigning offense at said assumptions. Lincoln stared right through her.

"...I'm gonna have a basketball game, and I need to practice," she admitted. Lincoln rolled his eyes as he probably should have seen this one coming.

"Why don't you ask one of our sisters? They're all probably better at sports than me," he said with clear annoyance. He never knew why Lynn always asked him to practice with her as he was the weakest Loud. He probably couldn't even beat Lily in arm wrestling, yet he was the one helping his sports-loving sister train.

"I tried, but they always say no... So, I ask you, since I know you won't refuse!" she explained.

Now he remembered why - because he was the sucker who always said 'yes', not because his siblings threatened him (although they did threaten him occasionally).

It was always like this. They showed up asking for help, and they knew for a fact that he rarely said no. Even when he did say no, he either felt bad or got chewed out by him.

Sighing heavily, (he has a tendency to do that, doesn't he?) he spoke. "Sure thing, Lynn. I'll do that."

Lynn grinned. "Thanks, brother," she said, before proceeding to wait for the bathroom.

The accursed wait for the bathroom was as long as ever. How could they have only one bathroom in a family of 13 people, anyway? No matter, as Lincoln finally had his turn, where he proceeded to do his necessities before heading downstairs.

"Hey, are you okay?" asked a voice identical to Lincoln's.

Lincoln groaned. He wanted to talk now?! What did he want this time?

"Wait until I go somewhere private," he said, with his voice barely being a whisper, but he knew he'd hear him.

The voice stayed silent, but Lincoln knew he simply shut his mouth until he could find somewhere private. So the dark-haired boy simply dodged any siblings that might have tried to pester him. He envied his goth sister Lucy, as she always managed to be as stealthy as possible without even trying. (Heck! The kid wanted her sisters to notice her).

Anyway, the dark Loud boy managed to avoid everyone and went into the garage where hopefully his sisters wouldn't find him talking to him.

"Is it okay here?"

Speak of the devil.

Lincoln turned around to find a boy that was so similar to him, yet so different. He was the same stature that himself, had the same face...same body, basically. But there were a few differences, like his clothing, which was an orange polo, blue jeans and white sneakers. He had no eyeliner. Last but not least...his snow white hair.

"Yeah, hopefully none of our siblings will come here to pester us," said the dark Lincoln.

The other Lincoln frowned a little at his other self's choice of words, but he let it go.

"What do you want?" asked the black-haired Lincoln.

"I wanted to know how you were," said the white-haired Lincoln.

Dark Lincoln looked really annoyed. That's what his other self wanted? To check up on how he was?! He had to go to school, and he couldn't just sneak out every time he wanted to talk to him! His siblings may notice!

"That's it? You just wanted to check on me?! You do know I can't just sneak off every time you want to talk to me, right?" The dark Lincoln spoke with annoyance.

"I told you that you can speak to me with your thoughts. You don't need to sneak off to talk to me. Plus, I already asked you how you were. You're the one who made a big deal of it by sneaking off," said the light Lincoln.

His other self had a point. He could just speak with his mind. In fact, he already did that a couple of times, but it was kinda weird. Plus, his siblings might notice him spacing out, so he preferred speaking aloud in private.

He simply responded to his earlier questions. "Whatever, I'm fine."

"You sure? You look a little grumpier than usual."

"I'm always like this. Why do you care, anyways?"

"First off, you don't act like this all the time. Sure, you always look unhappy, but you at least try to help your siblings and you just ignored them this time. Second of all, I do care about you. You know that."

"Care about you." That sentence always seemed so alien to him. He rarely believed that other people saw him as anything other than a stepping stone or some punching bag. Sure, sometimes he deserved it, but there was times when he felt like the universe's punching bag. He only believed that few people cared for him, one of them his other self.

Still, his other self had a point. He always tried to help his sisters with their problems or at least check on them even if he didn't want to, but today he'd just ignored them. It wasn't the first time that happened. Whenever he was on a really bad mood, he tried to disappear from his siblings and remain alone. But this just proved his other self's point.

"Okay... I may be feeling a little bad now."

Light Lincoln got close to his dark self and laid his hands on his shoulder. Yet dark Lincoln didn't feel them, reminding him that this boy was simply a figment of his imagination, something his mind had created. It frustrated him incredibly, but he wanted to feel his touch… his embrace.

Whoa, where did that come from?

Leaving those thoughts aside, the sole Loud son watched his reflection, who had that caring look in his eyes, his emerald green eyes that mirrored his.

"What's wrong?"

"I guess I feel… worthless. Like I'm just expendable, just someone who isn't special at all."

He always feel like this, especially around his sisters. They all had a talent that would take them somewhere in life. Yet here he was: a kid with no special talent. Even Lucy, who was just into darkness as he was, managed to make a talent out of it. Heck! Lily probably already had a talent that would make her successful.

Most of the time, he managed to live his life as usual despite that. But there were always those times when he remembered it, and that was when he got into those moods.

Light Lincoln started hugging his other self as tightly as he could, even though he knew dark Lincoln couldn't feel his touch.

"You are not worthless, you are not expendable. You are special on your own way."

Dark Lincoln just looked at him, tears forming on his face.

"You'll find your talent, you'll find your place in the world. I assure you, you're gonna make it."

Dark Lincoln simply started crying as he wrapped his arms around his other self. He buried his face in his shoulder. They stood like this, just enjoyed each other's embrace even if they couldn't actually feel it.

"I-I love you."

Once dark Lincoln opened his eyes, he realized that he was hugging himself. He turned around to see that his other self wasn't around.

He began cleaning his tears; he probably had to put his eyeliner on again.

As he got up, he heard light Lincoln's voice.

"I believe in you."

Smiling to himself, Lincoln went to his room to re-apply his eyeliner. He was about to grab his backpack when he heard someone knock on his door. He opened it to reveal his little sister.

"What do you want, Lucy?" He spoke in his usual emotionless tone. He was trying a bit harder to maintain it due to crying earlier.

"Lori wanted to ask you to hurry up since we're leaving for school in thirty minutes," she said, also using an emotionless tone.

"Okay, tell them i'm coming," he said as he left to get his backpack.

"Lincoln, you okay?" asked the little goth, this time with worry in her tone.

"... Yeah, why do you ask?"

"I heard your voice in the garage. I also heard… crying."

Lincoln stopped momentarily on his tracks. He simply looked at her before answering.

"I… I just needed to let out some steam. I'm okay now."

Lucy seemed satisfied with the answer… and then she went and hugged her older brother.

Lincoln remained motionless before smiling and returning the hug. After the hug ended he patted her in the head and said, "You go to get prepared, I'll follow you guys later." And with that the little girl went away.

Lincoln turned to the audience.

"I may feel like I'm surrounded by darkness constantly, that I'm worthless… but I know I have people always catching my back, even myself.

"Anyway, I'm going to school. Catch ya later."

And with that he was off.

This is my first attempt at a non Sonic fanfic.

Anyways i saw Lincoln dressing in goth clothes in "space invader" and i fell in love with this design so i dedicated a fanfic to him...sorta.

I hope it turns up good since i feel he came off as a bit whiny, i wanted to make him edgy and all but at the same time that he feels like Lincoln from canon. I may do another fanfic about Dark Lincoln in the future, who knows.

Fanfic edited by niaway and benignmilitancy.

Anyways bye.

PS:The reason i call him Dark Lincoln is because i didn't know if i call him goth or emo.

PS 2:The emerald green eyes is part of my headcanon.
